Senate Democrats are grumbling about the unwelcome entry of Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) into the party’s nomination next year, a contest that has been effectively rigged to ensure the coronation of President Joe Biden.
Following much speculation, the Minnesota liberal officially declared his candidacy on Friday, and while his campaign is a major longshot, it does present an alternative for Democrat voters concerned about Biden’s advanced age and the optics problem with his cognitive misfires in a high-stakes election that some worry could put former President Donald J. Trump back in the White House.
BREAKING: Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) is running for president, challenging Pres. Biden in the Democratic primary race.

“I don’t see any pathway he has to win. I’m not sure I agree with trying to call further attention to the things the public has issues with,” Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) said, according to The Hill. “I don’t understand what his goals are…I just don’t understand.”
“I haven’t really read anything about it. I don’t view it as that serious so I’m not taking it that seriously yet,” said Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) who was Hillary Clinton’s running mate in her doomed 2016 presidential campaign.
“I’m a strong supporter of Joe Biden. I think he’s done more than any other president in my lifetime to grow the middle class,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) said, dismissing Phillips’ bid. “I don’t think that’s going to end up being a big issue.”
In addition to the senators quoted by The Hill, other Democrats, Biden loyalists, and media shills for the White House have also expressed their dismay with Phillips’ primary challenge of the party’s doddering leader.
“He does have a very good heart. And I believe that in his heart, he thinks this is the right thing to do. But it’s quite the opposite,” one House Dem who is close to the candidate said, according to NBC News. “It’s destructive. He’s essentially torpedoing his career completely and destroying any goodwill he has within the Democratic Party. And he’s got no path — there’s no path. So this is an exercise in futility.”
Biden’s cheerleaders on “The View” devoted an entire segment to dumping on Phillips during Monday’s edition of the IQ-draining ABC gabfest.

Phillips’ decision to launch his campaign in New Hampshire also angered Biden’s rabidly loyal black Democrat supporters, with some quick to play the race card.
“He’s skipping a very diverse state to go to a non-diverse state,” ABC News quoted one anonymous black Democrat. “I think that is a telltale sign of where your values are.”
The 54-year-old Minnesotan’s campaign comes as Biden’s other challenger from the left Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared his candidacy as an independent, bolting the party which he argued had unfairly rigged the process for Biden by eliminating debates and moving South Carolina and its heavily-black electorate to the front of the line in the primary schedule.
“The polls say it, the numbers say it, but most importantly, the people are saying it. … What matters is people are saying it in conversation. They’re saying it to every single one of their elected officials, they’re saying it around their kitchen tables in their neighborhoods, in their garages, on their farms, in their coffee shops,” Phillips told reporters in Concord, New Hampshire, according to NBC News.
“And the fact that people are not being heard is why we have the anger in the country,” he added, predicting that the geriatric Biden will be defeated. “So the answer is yes, he will lose. And I’m not the only one that thinks that. I may be one of the few that’s simply willing to say it out loud.”
