Seriously? AP climate cult obsesses about which pets have the largest carbon pawprint

The climate cult’s latest aim is targeted squarely at the homes and hearts of many, as a new report looks at carbon emissions with the greatest “pawprints.”

Bill Gates may be backing away from the doomsday imaginings about the climate peddled for years, but corporate media has only slowed when curbed by cooler heads. That was not the case at the Associated Press, which saw fit Tuesday to look at the contribution of pets to greenhouse gases with a post that was heavily ridiculed: “The heat the ratio on this post is giving off is the new #contributor to global warming.”

Sharing snippets of interviews conducted with activists, like the sustainability and innovation director for the Pet Sustainability Coalition, the AP posted a brief video under the caption, “Pets have a pretty sizable climate impact. But not all carbon…pawprints…are created equal. So if you’re looking to get a pet, which ones emit the least? And if you’ve already got one, how do you make sure it has the smallest foot (or paw) print? There are some options.”

The report itself hit on the usual talking points of green zealots, like dialing down, if not ending, the consumption of meat, while also reducing global population sizes. This included challenging better quality food for pets with contentions that the health benefits are in question.

“But there isn’t much evidence to suggest refrigerated, fresh or human-grade food leads to better pet health outcomes, according to Alison Manchester, assistant clinical sciences professor at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine,” detailed the report.

Meanwhile, the AP wasn’t alone in rolling out reaffirmations of impending climate doom only days after the Microsoft co-founder massaged his own talking points, which many suggested he was motivated by the energy demands required of artificial intelligence data centers.

Ahead of the New York City marathon, ABC News promoted an analysis from the non-profit group Climate Central about the alleged impact that climate change was having on both professional and amateur runners.

Likewise, a CBS News producer reportedly attempted to foist explainers from the same group onto coverage of Hurricane Melissa. The outlet Heated reported on an email sent out by the network’s senior coordinating producer, Tracy Wholf, who explained “how an overly-hot Atlantic Ocean supercharged Melissa, fueling its rapid 70-mph intensification in a single day…”

The result under new CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss was said to be the termination of the entire “Climate Unit.”

Still, the AP story dwarfed the others with its own sizable footprint, garnering more than 1.3 million views at the time of this post, but barely a blip in the way of likes as social media users instead flocked to the comments to excoriate the latest example of so-called “journalism.”
