‘Shame on you!’ Ronald McDonald House under fire for allegedly evicting cancer-stricken kids over vax status

A prominent American charity is facing backlash because one of its international branches in Canada is allegedly “evicting” unvaccinated children.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an internationally recognized charity whose “houses” house sick children who are being treated at nearby hospitals.

Over in Canada, the company’s British Columbia branch, RMHBC, recently announced that all incoming residents and visitors must be vaccinated by the 17th of this month, while all current residents and visitors must receive at least one dose by the 31st.

“Beginning January 17th, 2022, everyone five years and older who are working, staying, or visiting our facilities … must show proof of full vaccination (two doses), in addition to completing our existing screening, unless an Accommodation has been sought and has been explicitly,” RMHBC announced via a written notice.

The notice doesn’t explicitly specify what’ll happen to those who fail to abide by the mandate. However, according to Austin Furgason, a father whose leukemia-stricken son is currently at one of the facilities, violators will be “evicted.”

“Anyone older than five who’s not vaccinated is getting evicted from Ronald McDonald House,” he said in a video uploaded to Facebook on Tuesday.

In a written note attached to the post, he added more details: “All tenants, adults and children over the age of 5 who are not vaccinated are out by the end of January. … They are evicting my son with leukaemia and any other children or adults who are suffering with sick children into the snow. The Covid cult is far more dangerous then Covid. If they will evict families with cancer, what won’t they do.”

The video shows him confronting the residence’s manager, who notes that his son is under the age of five, meaning he’s OK for the time being. But Furgason pushed back, noting that if his son was just a couple months older, he’d be out, and also pointing out that he himself won’t be able to visit his son.

Over on Twitter meanwhile, two reactions have emerged. The left, comprised of the same people who continue to call for “free housing,” are showering Ronald McDonald House Charities and its Canadian branch with praise.

Critics, on the other hand, are slamming them all to smithereens.

RMHBC has for its part claimed that it’ll be seeking out “alternate accommodation” for affected families and not just throwing them onto the streets.

“Our family services team here would work closely with the team of social workers at the hospital to find alternate accommodation for a family that would meet their needs for the duration of their stay in Vancouver,” a spokesperson said, according to Newsweek.
