News that former President Trump was allegedly a client of suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann for an architectural job on Wall Street surfaced as the suspect’s wife filed for divorce less than a week after his arrest.
In an apparent attempt to link the former president to the high-profile suspect, The Real Deal reported that The Trump Organization had hired Heuermann for a $200,000 job in 2018 involving his 72-story Trump Building on Wall Street, in the financial district of Manhattan. That accusation is being contested by The Trump Organization.
The information was allegedly obtained through the New York City Department of Buildings. The filing reportedly states that the accused architect’s firm was contracted for a “renovation of office space on the 17th floor to include minor partition and plumbing changes.” The estimated cost of the renovation work on the 1930s iconic building amounted to just over $205,000. The Vice President of Property Management for The Trump Organization, Steve Lafiosca, was listed under the owner’s information in the filing.
The Trump Organization asserts that Heuermann was hired by a tenant to conduct work in a space that they leased from his firm.
A spokeswoman stated, “Mr. Heuermann has never worked for The Trump Organization in any capacity. According to our records, he was hired by a third party tenant, who vacated years ago, to perform minor architectural work in their individual space.”
Even if it were true, many folks pointed out the obvious:
He had a lot of clients.

So what? How was he to know the man was secretly a killer?

Other clients that hired Heuermann’s firm included Target, Footlocker, Nike, and Cipriani, according to the Daily Mail. The architectural firm provided services that are comprised of architecture, interior design, and building department expediting.
Heuermann, 59, is suspected in the deaths of at least four women and has been charged in the murder of three of them so far: Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. The fourth woman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, is also a suspected victim. Her body was bound and hidden in thick underbrush along a remote beach highway. It is now suspected there are other women who were murdered by the alleged serial killer as well. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of first- and second-degree murder.

The architect was arrested last week in Midtown Manhattan outside his Fifth Avenue firm. The arrest comes 13 years after the four bodies were discovered along Gilgo Beach, wrapped in camouflage burlap sacks.
The Daily Mail reported that 11 people, including a toddler, have been found dead along that stretch of beach but the media outlet did not indicate how many of those deaths are tied to Heuermann.
Investigators have been tearing apart the architect’s Long Island home for days.

According to the Daily Mail, items found in the home include “a rope kept in a vault, a torn man’s shirt with a stain in a bag and handcuff keys in a shelf underneath a work bench.” Over 200 weapons have reportedly been confiscated as well from the home.
Bizarre and disturbing items have allegedly been found in the home including a painting of a battered woman and a child-sized blonde doll kept in a wooden case. Playboy magazines were also found.
Two storage units are being searched and police have seized a rare first-generation Chevy Avalanche at the home of his younger brother Craig whom several have described as “creepy.” Police believe that truck is linked to the murder of one of the sex workers, Amber Costello. Heuermann sold the vehicle to his brother who lives in South Carolina, according to the Daily Mail.
The investigation has spread to at least three states including South Carolina where Heuermann owns property and Nevada where he owned a condo in Las Vegas.
Heuermann’s wife, Asa Ellerup, officially filed for divorce on Wednesday from her husband and it will be uncontested. They share two adult children.

The wife’s attorney, Bob Macedonio, told Fox News Digital that they filed a summons and complaint for divorce as he entered the Suffolk County Jail in Yaphank.
“This is all still a whirlwind,” Macedonio stated. “Her and her children’s lives have been completely turned upside-down.”
Police arrived at the family’s home in Massapequa Park and broke the news to them that the father and husband had been slapped with half a dozen cold case charges. The family’s passports, computers, phones, and iPads were seized, according to the attorney.

“They were home and the cops came in, and they were completely blindsided, and they told them what was going on,” he recounted.
According to the New York Post, when the wife was told what her husband had allegedly done and was shown pictures, she replied, “OK, it is what it is.”
Heuermann is due back in court on Aug. 1. He faces up to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole if convicted and the police believe they have a mountain of evidence against him concerning the murders.
