‘She won’t do it’: Trump responds to Kamala Harris ‘stealing’ his ‘No Tax on Tips’ proposal

Announced intention showed Vice President Kamala Harris “has no imagination” as she pandered with policy ripped straight from former President Donald Trump’s campaign.

“Kamala is running the fakest, phoniest most fraudulent campaign in US history.”

Aided by corporate media and celebrity allies, the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee has continued to behave as though she were not the incumbent vice president with a record of policy positions in an administration of economic downturn and global insecurity. Saturday, while speaking at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, she upped the ante on feckless politicking by flagrantly ripping off Trump’s plan for “No tax on tips.”

“When I was attorney general of California, we worked together to crack down on wage theft. When I was a United States senator, we fought together for paid family leave and medical leave. And earlier this year, right here in Vegas, we celebrated your historic contract win,” said Harris. “And it is my promise to everyone here when I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America.”

“Including to raise the minimum wage,” she claimed toward that end. “And eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitility [sic] workers.”

Reacting to the policy ripoff, the Trump campaign shared a snippet of her remarks with the caption, “Kamala just announced she is stealing President Trump’s ‘NO TAX ON TIPS’ proposal. But like everything else she says, it’s a pure political calculation she’ll never actually do — but President Trump will.”

Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller added to that, “Kamala is running the fakest, phoniest most fraudulent campaign in US history.”

What was on the record, as some in the media were voicing their discontent with Harris not facing greater scrutiny and pressure to expand on key policies, was on 18 months earlier the Biden-Harris IRS had introduced a proposal for the Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) to “take advantage of advancements in point-of-sale, time and attendance systems, and electronic payment settlement methods to improve tip reporting compliance.”

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie (R) had called out the proposal at launch as he snarked, “Stop the presses. No need to raise the debt limit. Biden is going after those billionaire waitresses’ tips.”

Keying in on the policy swipe from his campaign, Trump took to Truth Social where he commented, “Kamala Harris, whose ‘Honeymoon’ period is ENDING, and is starting to get hammered in the Polls, just copied my NO TAXES ON TIPS Policy. The difference is, she won’t do it, she just wants it for Political Purposes! This was a TRUMP idea — She has no ideas, she can only steal from me. Remember, Kamala has proposed the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY — It won’t happen. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

In followup posts he added, “Kamala has no imagination, whatsoever, as shown by the fact that she played ‘COPYCAT’ with, NO TAXES ON TIPS!” before asking, “How long will it be before Kamala Harris comes out with another ‘TRUMP’ policy like, ‘No Taxes will be paid by our Senior Citizens on Social Security?’ She’s looking really bad now! Everyone is waiting to see what idea, or policy of mine, she will copy next.”

Others made their own suggestions on the lengths Harris might take to win the White House, included replicating the GOP leader’s famed coiffure.
