‘Sicko with an axe to grind’: Trump tears into Biden for pushing ‘losers and suckers’ hoax

A shameless retread of a debunked claim prompted return fire from former President Donald Trump about the responsible “sicko with an axe to grind.”

“No President, especially ‘dumb as a rock’ Joe Biden, has done more for our Military than DONALD J. Trump.”

One day after President Joe Biden marked the 80th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy, his campaign used the solemn occasion to launch an attack against his Republican rival, slapping together out-of-context quotes over images of wounded veterans, mourning loved ones, and the graves of the fallen.

Beginning with an alleged quote cited from a 2020 article in The Atlantic that claimed Trump had rejected plans to visit the graves of fallen soldiers during a 2018 trip to France, “Why should I go to [Aisne-Marne American] cemetery? It’s filled with losers,” the return of “losers and suckers” was not met quietly by the GOP leader.

“Crooked Joe Biden…the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, just confused Ukraine with Iraq. He actually doesn’t know the difference, probably gets money from both, a Manchurian Candidate! He also said, in another Democrat Disinformation ‘hit job’ like Russia, Russia, Russia, the ’51 Intel Agents,’ or the Fake FISA Reports, that I called dead American Soldiers, ‘losers and suckers,'” wrote Trump on Truth Social.

“Who would ever say such a thing? Only a sicko with an axe to grind would suggest that anyone would make such a statement,” he continued. “They even made these horrific words into an advertisement, which shows how desperate they are. No President, especially ‘dumb as a rock’ Joe Biden, has done more for our Military than DONALD J. TRUMP. The Military hates Crooked Joe, and all of the failure he represents. Take down the Fake Ad, Joe, and stop the unprecedented Weaponization of ‘Justice’ against your Political Opponent. You are destroying our Country!”

Along with the remarks credited to his former Chief of Staff John Kelly, the ad also presented criticisms that Trump had voiced of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who’d suffered lasting injuries from his time as a prisoner during the Vietnam War, and one even cited Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson (D) in an attempt to mar his reputation.

Businessman and MSNBC analyst Donny Deutsch also mentioned Kelly in attempting to add weight to the story, debunked as conditions at the time of the planned visit prohibited travel, who said Friday, “Contrast is everything in this election. And I think the military is the greatest example to show the contrast between two men.”

“You see Donald Trump who, you know, got off, didn’t serve because of bunions and allegedly told John Kelly, his chief of staff… as they were in a cemetery looking at fallen heroes, ‘Why would any person be a sucker and give their life for their country?’ And that’s all you need to know about Donald Trump,” he continued suggesting Kelly be joined by former Secretary of Defense James Mattis, former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to release their own ad against Trump.

Another post from the former president added his own contrast without even bringing up Biden looking at his watch during the dignified transfer of the fallen U.S. service members killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal, writing, “Obviously, I never said that dead Soldiers are ‘losers and suckers.’ Who would say such a thing? It was MADE UP DISINFORMATION by Radical Left Democrats, and Trump Haters, working with a failing Magazine, just like Russia, Russia, Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, FISA Fraud, 51 Intel Agents, and so much more. Anytime you see that despicable FAKE statement used, remember that it comes from the FASCIST SCUM that is destroying our Country. Nobody has done more for the Military than Donald J. Trump — I completely Rebuilt it, and added SPACE FORCE to boot! VOTE FOR TRUMP — MAGA2024!”
