Former President Donald J. Trump isn’t convinced that VP Kamala Harris will be the Democrat nominee after the party’s convention next month and is hesitant to agree to a debate until it’s official.
The GOP nominee’s campaign put out a statement saying that it would be “inappropriate” to schedule a debate with Joe Biden’s failed border czar because Democrats could develop a case of buyer’s remorse and “change their minds” about Harris, a deeply unpopular DEI hire who is even more disliked than her boss.
Harris reacted to the statement by talking smack, accusing Trump of “backpedaling” on an early September match-up that was set to be hosted by Disney-owned ABC News, a rabidly partisan outlet with a top anchor who is facing a defamation lawsuit for lying about Trump.
Trump agreed on a September 10th debate.
It now appears he’s backpedaling.

“What happened to ‘any time, any place’?” Harris asked in another post.
What Harris is leaving out is that when Trump agreed to two debates one in June on CNN and the ABC one in September, it was to square off with Biden who at the time was locked in as the 2024 nominee until an internal party elite coup led by scheming former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama forced him to step down.
In the Thursday statement, Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung said, “Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee.”

“There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party – namely Barack Hussein Obama – that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone ‘better.’ Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds,” he wrote.
Even though the entire media has already coronated Biden’s loopy second banana as their Trump slayer – to the extent of erasing their previous reporting about her being in charge of the border – it is not yet a done deal and the Democrats could still back out on Harris who reportedly has Obama concerned that she’s a sure loser in November.
For now, it’s all-in on Kamala but only a few short months ago Democrats were solidly behind the geriatric incumbent who they had propped up for four years, and anyone who dared to suggest that he could be replaced was branded as a conspiracy theorist.
Trump has expressed his distrust of ABC as an honest host for any debate. “ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, is not worthy of holding a Debate, of which I hope there will be many!” Trump said in a post to Truth Social earlier this week.
