‘Social contagion’: Nearly 40% of Brown University students identify as LGBTQ+

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took serious heat from the left for taking a stand for parental rights in our schools, protecting children from left-wing ideologies like critical race theory and queer theory.

The effectiveness of the latter indoctrination has arguably resulted in turning gender dysphoria into a social contagion, with new disciples being celebrated and smothered in “love” as they surrender more traditional values to join the LGBTQ+ order. Just how successful may reflect in a new survey showing that nearly 40% of students at Brown University identify as LGBTQ+, doubling the total from 2010.

But the left is not grooming children — just ask them.

Of course, another factor here is expanding the pool to mainstream the LGBTQ+ community. The survey conducted by the school’s independent newspaper The Brown Daily Herald added pansexual, asexual, queer, questioning, and other to their list of identities in 2020, according to Fox News.

Interestingly, those identifying as homosexual plummeted in the new survey. In 2010, 46% said they were homosexual and the number today is just 23%. At the same time, bisexuals represent the majority of LGBTQ+ students at Brown University in the new survey.

The number of Brown students who say they are “questioning/unsure” about their identity accounted for 17% of the total in 2023. This total likely represents those eager to fit in with a community that is often granted preferred treatment, something that may prove to be convenient when liberal professors are passing out grades.

The Herald survey was published as a part of its “2023 Pride Special Issue,” and did not specify how many students were surveyed, Fox News reported.

When the paper first started tracking LGBTQ+ prominence on campus in 2010, 86% of students identified as straight. Straight students now represent 60% of the total surveyed.

The 38% of Brown students identifying as LGBTQ+ represents more than five times the national rate for adults, according to a 2022 Gallup poll. Those findings showed that 7% of all adults identified as LGBTQ+, but noted that the rate jumps to 20% for people between the ages of 18 and 25.

Fox News noted that the national rate of LGBTQ+ identification for adults has also doubled over the last decade from 3.5% in 2012 to 7.2% in 2022, adding that bisexuals consist of 58% of those identifying as LGBTQ+.

When breaking the LGBTQ+ identification rate down by generation, it increases with each generation: Silent Generation are at 1.7%, Baby Boomers at 2.7%, Generation X at 3.3%, millennials at 11.2%, and Generation Z at 19.7%.

The power of propaganda is not to be denied.
