Rev. Al Sharpton’s brother, Pastor Kenneth Sharpton Glasgow, was unsurprisingly sentenced to 30 months behind bars for drug trafficking, income tax evasion, and lying to obtain Social Security disability benefits and it’s not the first time the shady family member has run afoul of the law.

This is Sharpton’s half-brother. They share the same father. His sentence was handed down on Thursday and he has to report to the prison on August 17, according to the Daily Mail.
Glasgow, 58, pleaded guilty to the charges, so the sentence did not come as a shock to him. He embezzled $407,000 from two non-profit organizations he founded including, The Ordinary People Society (TOPS), located in Dothan, Alabama, which is a felon voting rights advocacy organization, and the Prodigal Child Project. He also runs Kenny Sharpton-Glasgow Ministries International.
According to The Christian Post, prosecutors contend that Glasgow stole almost $1 million from the nonprofits without reporting the income. US District Judge R. Austin Huffaker, for some baffling reason, rejected that claim.
United States Attorney Sandra J. Stewart said the judge also ordered that Glasgow serve three years of supervised release following his prison term as well.

Jim Parkman, one of Glasgow’s attorneys, said after the sentencing that it was “a fair sentence.”
Glasgow also reportedly tried to defraud the Social Security Administration in order to collect disability benefits. He was ordered to repay the $376,000 he fraudulently collected.
On some Social Security forms, Glasgow falsely claimed that his physical limitations were so severe that he had difficulty driving and had to ride with someone. According to court records, Glasgow admitted to leasing a vehicle using funds from one of his nonprofits and listed himself as the sole authorized driver. He received traffic citations relating to approximately 27 different traffic stops between February 5, 2015, and August 11, 2020. All of the citations indicated that Glasgow was the driver.
He pled guilty in another case to conspiring with Willie Frank Peterson to distribute cocaine. That case is still pending. He was also involved in an alleged assault against a police officer who reportedly tried to remove illegal drugs from Glasgow’s mouth during a traffic stop.
Lying, cheating, thieving, tax evading, pastor brothers of a feather.

Later in July, Glasgow will be appearing in court on that assault charge. His attorneys believe the other charges will be dropped, according to WTVY.
Bryan Stevenson, who is the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, testified on Glasgow’s behalf and described him as having “no boundaries of who he will help,” according to ProPublica.
The judge evidently took into account Glasgow’s community work when deciding on his 30-month prison sentence.
Al Sharpton’s half-brother has quite the rap sheet. In March 2018, he was busted with 26-year-old Jaime Townes after the body of 23-year-old Breunia Jennings was found in a wrecked car in Alabama. She was shot in the head. Police believe Townes murdered her because he believed she stole his car.
Al Sharpton’s half brother is sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
For stealing $407,000 from two non profit organizations he founded, drug trafficking and tax evasion.
You know who should be in prison with his half bro, is Al bc he still owes taxes!

Authorities contended that “instead of him (Townes) notifying law enforcement, he took matters into his own hands and jumped in Mr. Glasgow’s vehicle to find Breunia Jennings.”
According to authorities, a number of shots were fired at the vehicle Jennings was driving and police believe that Townes fired the shots. Several people were arrested including Glasgow and Townes. Both of the men were charged with capital murder.
Glasgow questioned his arrest and the murder charge against him.
“I don’t know why I am facing capital murder charges,” Glasgow asserted, according to The Dothan Eagle. “I’m not responsible for what someone else does. He just asked me for a ride to take him to look for his car.”
and not one media outlet will ask the REV about it,

Under Alabama law, Glasgow was charged with murder because it’s believed he aided or abetted Townes by letting him use his car. He was eventually cleared of the capital murder charge.
He also served 14 years for robbery and drug convictions over two decades ago. That was when he got the idea to launch the nonprofit The Ordinary People’s Society, whose mission is to promote a number of social justice initiatives including felon voting rights.
The Rev. Al Sharpton and Glasgow’s family are damaged goods. Al Sharpton Sr., the father of both men, had a sexual relationship with Al Sharpton’s half-sister, Tina Glasgow, which resulted in Pastor Glasgow’s birth.
“Al’s sister was the mother while Al’s DAD was the father.”
So, Al is a half bruncle.
Got it.

Glasgow told ProPublica, “I was born messed up. My fingers messed up. It’s meant for me to be messed up.”
