Some Dems scoff at Biden’s dismal numbers, suggest that people are ‘underestimating’ him

He may not be a spring chicken but some Democrats believe that President Joe Biden is the comeback kid and dismissed concern over his dismal poll numbers, warning against those who would “underestimate” him.

The deeply unpopular octogenarian has struggled mightily to sell the “Bidenomics” scam with beleaguered Americans seemingly immune to propaganda and gaslighting about his allegedly vibrant economy which doesn’t mesh with the reality of continued high prices at the grocery store, housing, and other essentials, a major problem for his reelection hopes but perhaps not so if some Biden loyalists are to be believed.

“I’m very bullish on President Biden’s reelection in 2024. The economy is strong, we’ve recovered from COVID, and we are once again respected in the world. Most importantly, he’s restored a sense of normalcy after four years of President Trump’s chaos,” said former Al Gore aide David Thomas, according to The Hill.

“Does work remain? You bet,” Thomas added. “But if you ask the question in November: ‘Are you better off than you were four years ago?’ I believe a majority of Americans will answer a resounding yes.”

“Elections are about choices. The American people don’t want a return to Trump’s chaos and aren’t looking for an authoritarian leader who admires dictators,” said Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), seemingly hoping that there’s still hope in the hoax linking the GOP frontrunner to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“President Biden has a strong record of accomplishments from bringing our economy back from the brink to passing historic legislation to standing up for Americans’ rights, and the difference in choices couldn’t be more clear,” the Maryland senator told The Hill.

Former Democrat congressman Joe Crowley, the man responsible for the rise of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that it was “unfortunate” that Democrats aren’t completely onboard with Biden.

“If the shoe was on the other foot, Republicans would not be behind the scenes poking needles into the back of their nominee, especially as a presidential incumbent. And that’s unfortunate we see that happening right now with Democrats,” he added. “At the end of the day, people need to come home to Joe Biden, and I think they will.”

The longtime lawmaker’s lack of awareness opened the door to the ongoing nightmare that is AOC after he took his House seat in New York’s 14th congressional district for granted and was upset by a fast-talking socialist bartender in the 2018 primary, a humiliating defeat for the high ranking Democrat who was at the time considered to be in line for Speaker of the House.

“Biden faces challenges going into 2024, but I’m baffled by seemingly smart political people writing his chances off,” remarked Jim Kessler who co-founded the Washington, D.C. think tank Third Way.

One major name that has been seen as writing Biden off is former White House strategist David Axelrod who has sounded the alarm that the flailing incumbent could lose the election to Trump and suggested that he step down, remarks that did not go over well with the cranky president reportedly calling the “Obama whisperer” a “pr**k” for appearing to shove him out the door and into retirement.

“Biden has been historically underestimated. At this point in the 2020 primary, he was left for dead and Mike Bloomberg was going to ride to the rescue. He not only won the primary, he mopped the floor with his opponents. Mike Tyson took longer to win half of his fights,” Kessler added, mocking the former New York City mayor’s ill-fated presidential run.

“This notion that Trump is somehow strong and in a strong position to win the election I think is among the most ridiculous things that I’ve ever heard in all the years I’ve been in politics,” said Dem strategist Simon Rosenberg, scoffing at the polls showing that Trump would beat Biden.
