Soros doubles down on funding ‘reform-minded’ prosecutors, says he has ‘no intention of stopping’

Billionaire, global dark money financier, and self-described “philanthropist” George Soros has been backing progressive elections for some time now and where the average American sees disaster, the Fabian Socialist has claimed success with no intention of backing down.

On Monday, The Wall Street Journal gave the world-renowned “spooky dude” a platform to publish his op-ed, “Why I Support Reform Prosecutors” wherein he espouses his concerns about crime. In fact, so concerned is Soros that he lauded the efforts of the soft-on-crime so-called “sensible reform-minded” candidates whose elections he’s funded and declared “I have no intention of stopping.”

Sticking to the favored language of the activist class, Soros touted “promises to be more effective and just” in handling crime that has spiked in cities where his endorsed candidates to the tune of more than $29 million this year alone have won, and explained, “This agenda includes prioritizing the resources of the criminal-justice system to protect people against violent crime. It urges that we treat drug addiction as a disease, not a crime. And it seeks to end the criminalization of poverty and mental illness.”

“The goal,” Soros claimed, “is not defunding the police but restoring trust between the police and the policed, a partnership that fosters the solving of crimes.”

However, the record has clearly shown that Soros and his daughter, Andrea Soros Colombel had been funding the Lead the Way 2022 and Way to Lead PACs supporting politicians who fully embraced the “defund the police” movement.

“The idea that we need to choose between justice and safety is false. They reinforce each other: If people trust the justice system, it will work. And if the system works, public safety will improve,” he argued as he made his case that, “we need to invest more in preventing crime with strategies that work — deploying mental-health professionals in crisis situations, investing in youth job programs, and creating opportunities for education behind bars. This reduces the likelihood that those prisoners will commit new crimes after release.”

“This is why I have supported the election (and more recently the re-election) of prosecutors who support reform. I have done it transparently, and I have no intention of stopping,” Soros promised.

In fact, it was estimated that one in five Americans have been directly impacted by these candidates that the billionaire has funded and, according to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF), “Most of these prosecutors pursue radical justice policies upon assuming office including eliminating bail, dismissing felony cases, and seeking lenient sentences while creating antagonistic relationships with their public safety partners, especially the police.”

“Crime and violence surged following the election of many of these reform prosecutors,” the LELDF report concluded and Fox News contributor Leo Terrell declared on “America’s Newsroom” Monday that that is Soros’ goal.

“He’s gonna spend more money on bankrolling soft prosecutors like Kim Foxx (Chicago) and George Gascón (Los Angeles). And then he plays…the race card,” Terrell railed. “Those cities like Chicago, New York are run by minorities. He’s claiming the criminal justice system is racist. What he wants to do is eliminate the criminal justice system. He wants to eliminate law enforcement. He wants no law enforcement, and that is a welcome sight for career criminals and gang members.”

Soros contended that “The funds I provide enable sensible reform-minded candidates to receive a hearing from the public. Judging by the results, the public likes what it’s hearing,” but the reality is that Soros-backed San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin was recalled and LA DA Gascón is facing a second recall effort while State Attorney Foxx lost one of her top prosecutors to resignation because of her terrible handling of Cook County’s criminality.
