A recall-surviving, Soros-funded district attorney is now facing a lawsuit from one of his own prosecutors alleging “sham investigations, suspensions, and other retaliatory actions…”
Soft-on-crime policies and the officials advancing them have proven to be a plague on the American landscape. Monday, an effort at accountability was launched against one such figure when the Dhillon Law Group filed a whistleblower retaliation suit against Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
Seeking damages and injunctive relief, Deputy District Attorney Shea Sanna was said to have “incurred [superiors] wrath” after “efforts to uphold his legal and ethical duties despite significant opposition from DA Gascón and his administration.”
“Dhillon Law Group Inc., representing Deputy District Attorney Shea Sanna, has filed a complaint against the County of Los Angeles and District Attorney George Gascón, based upon DA Gascón’s extensive retaliation campaign against Sanna for reporting unlawful and unethical conduct to his supervisors and the public,” a press release for the suit detailed.
Allegations within the complaint claimed that Gascón and his office pressured Sanna to “suppress critical information and subsequently retaliating against him when he refused to comply.”

The suit further claimed the deputy DA’s effort to report issues of alleged suppressed evidence resulted in “sham investigations, suspensions, and other retaliatory actions orchestrated by Gascón’s office.”
As had been previously reported, Sanna was suspended in Feb. 2023 for allegedly “misgendering” and “deadnaming” James “Hannah” Tubbs, the convicted child molester whom Gascón had refused to prosecute as an adult, instead sentencing him to serve two years in a girl’s juvenile detention facility as a 26-year-old man.
“In the Tubbs case,” said attorney Anthony Fusaro, “Deputy District Attorney Shea Sanna did nothing but seek to uphold his ethical and legal duties to present all relevant evidence to the court. Yet because this evidence conflicted with D.A. Gascon’s recently enacted policies and public statements, Gascon sought to suppress it.”
“When Mr. Sanna informed his supervisors and the public of Gascon’s suppression efforts, Gascon responded with a relentless retaliation campaign against Mr. Sanna that persists to this day,” he added.
Speaking on his own behalf, Sanna asserted, “For the past two years, Gascon has tried to silence me. He has suspended me without pay, threatened my livelihood, attacked my credibility, tarnished my reputation, demoted me, investigated me, and harassed me, all so I would obey him; so I would stay quiet; so I wouldn’t speak up on behalf of those most affected by his misguided political policies.”
According to the suit, “Gascón publicly admitted that he attempted to ‘sideline’ Sanna and other deputy district attorneys who do not agree with his ideological vision of the department, and has expressed his frustration that he cannot fire Sanna without cause.”
Sanna was later suspended again in June 2023 and demoted in Oct. 2023 which included a transfer to the Santa Clarita office and a pay cut before allegedly refusing to promote the plaintiff in April 2024.
Seeking a jury trial, the lawsuit’s prayer for relief listed general, special, and punitive damages in addition to attorneys’ fees and costs, post-judgment interest, and “any and all other relief the Court deems just and proper.”
