House Speaker Mike Johnson slammed the administration on Thursday for floating the idea of granting millions of illegal aliens amnesty.
He slammed the administration in a Thursday tweet after a meeting a day earlier between Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Following the meeting, all three released a joint statement teasing the potential for amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens already in the United States.
“The delegations … discussed the benefit of regularizing the situation of long-term undocumented Hispanic migrants and DACA recipients, who are a vital part of the U.S. economy and society,” the statement reads.

Johnson was not happy with the statement.
“At a time when America is experiencing the worst border crisis in our nation’s history, it is unconscionable to hear the Biden Administration’s announcement that Secretaries Mayorkas and Blinken discussed with the President of Mexico amnesty for illegal immigrants,” he said in a statement posted to X on Thursday afternoon.
“The United States must focus on policies that deter — not attract — people attempting to come here illegally, and the smugglers who profit from the catastrophe at our border,” he added.
Continuing his post, he slammed President Joe Biden in particular over his clear-cut lack of interest in actually resolving the border crisis.
“This development further demonstrates the Administration has no real intention of solving the humanitarian disaster and immediate national security crisis their policies have created,” he wrote.
“President Biden needs to stop vacationing and take immediate steps to stop the flow of illegal immigration into our country. Our nation’s security and sovereignty depend upon it, and the American people demand it,” he continued.

The joint statement also angered critics because it contains nothing about how the administration plans to ENFORCE America’s immigration laws. Instead, it talks about everything else but that.
For example, the statement says, “The two countries reaffirmed their existing commitments on fostering an orderly, humane, and regular migration.”
So more migration?
“This includes reinforcing our partnership to address the root causes of migration, such as poverty, inequality, and violence, and for the two countries’ initiative for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans,” the statement continues.
The administration has obsessively been searching for the so-called “root causes” of illegal migration since 2021 when Vice President Kamala Harris was designated the administration’s border czar.
However, the evidence strongly points to the true causes being the Biden administration’s reversal of all of former President Donald Trump’s successful migration policies, including the highly successful Remain in Mexico program.
All @POTUS had to do was leave these profoundly effective & humane policies in place. Catch-and-release was OVER. The border was secure. A framework for regional rejuvenation was in place. And the Biden Admin set everything on fire, producing utter humanitarian disaster.(11/11).

The joint statement also talks about the United States’ continued “investment” in the region — “investment” that has done nothing to stymie the flow of illegal aliens across the southern U.S. border.
“President López Obrador … stressed the need to continue the diplomatic and political engagement with all countries in the region, as well as investing in ambitious development programs throughout the entire hemisphere of the Americas,” the statement reads.
“Both delegations underlined the efforts that the Biden administration is pursuing through development assistance and humanitarian aid, as well as advancing new private investments in the region,” it continues.
Johnson isn’t the only one who’s lashed out over the meeting and statement.

All this comes amid reports that a new caravan of illegal aliens and so-called “migrants” is headed to the U.S.
“A caravan of thousands of migrants continued its dayslong march through Mexico toward the southern U.S. border Wednesday,” NBC News reported on the same day as the poorly received meeting between Blinken, Mayorkas, and Obrador.
“About 7,500 people from 24 different countries were believed to be part of a massive group making its way north Wednesday through the Mexican state of Chiapas on the border of Guatemala, Luis GarcÃa Villagrán, an organizer of the migrant caravan and activist, [said],” the outlet added.
Happening Now: A caravan is headed to the US Border and could be the largest ever at over 15,000 people. The migrant rights leader heading the group has said they won’t stop until they reach the United Stated.
