It was only a matter of time until the demands for reparations spread from California to the rest of the nation, and a collection of far-left Democrat House members held a press conference in Washington, D.C. where they issued their demands that it’s time to pay up, with one member of the radical socialist “Squad” putting the amount owed to black people who have never been slaves at a mind-boggling $14 trillion.
On Wednesday, the lawmakers who were led by Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) unveiled the Reparations Now resolution, seeking to capitalize on the growing momentum of California’s reparations task force which just put the finishing touches on its proposal as the members were tasked with doing by Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom who bears the responsibility for creating a monster that has now escaped the laboratory and is rampaging across the country.
“Our country was not founded on the principle that all people are created equal. It was founded at the expense of the lives, freedoms and well-being of black people, African folks who they stole, whose enslavement, exploitation and dehumanization were written into the Constitution,” said Bush.
Bush was joined by fellow “Squad” members Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), and fledgling Summer Lee (D-Pa.) along with activists seeking to advance the ball on the contentious issue at the national level.

“Our bill breaks down the value of cotton produced by enslaved Africans…the economic advancement of the United States through cotton,” the congresswoman said, according to The Root. “And how there has never been any repayment for the harm done to those enslaved.”
The outlet also reported that the resolution is seeking $14 trillion from Congress to fund the giveaway, a request that comes as negotiations over raising the national debt ceiling are ongoing.
“We need to push this right now,” she told the black news website. “It’s 2023, and the U.S. federal government still has not acknowledged the atrocities that came at the hands of this government.”
Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) who has been instrumental in getting reparations off the ground in her home state, joined the bomb-throwing BLM activist to make the case for stealing money from white people who were never slave owners to give it to blacks who were never forced into bondage but, thanks to Democrats and the media’s promotion of the false narrative of a nation built on the foundation of white supremacy, are clamoring to cash in on their winning tickets in the race lottery.
“Reparations is not just about repairing the damage. Reparations means equity. Reparations means justice. Reparations means dismantling the systems that have kept us marginalized,” Lee wrote on Twitter on Wednesday in support of Bush’s resolution as well as delivering remarks at the presser outside of the Capitol.

Bush also took to Twitter to emphasize that it’s time for America to cough up the coin.
“Every step of the way, Black Americans have been intentionally pushed back economically. A debt is owed,” she wrote. “It’s time to pay that debt. It’s time for reparations.”
Slavery.
Black codes.
Jim Crow.
Redlining.
Mass incarceration.Every step of the way, Black Americans have been intentionally pushed back economically. A debt is owed.
It’s time to pay that debt. It’s time for reparations.

“We have to get the conversation going,” Bush told The Root. “We have to speak to all of the horrifying things that went down.”
