‘Squad’ member Jamaal Bowman regrets spreading 9/11 conspiracy blog posts as NYC principal

“Squad” member Jamaal Bowman’s posts from years ago when he was a New York principal have surfaced, airing shocking conspiracy theories concerning the 9/11 terror attacks.

Bowman, who was recently censured after pulling a fire alarm at the U.S. Capitol during the final hours of government shutdown negotiations in September, is in hot water again… this time over 9/11. He claims he regrets the posts and previously deleted them.

“Well over a decade ago, as I was debating diving into a doctoral degree, I explored a wide range of books, films, and articles across a wide swath of the political spectrum and processed my thoughts in a personal blog that few people ever read,” Bowman said in a statement.

The New York congressman represents the Bronx and Westchester County which makes his unhinged claims about 9/11 even more problematic and offensive.

In his blog posts, which were originally discovered by the Daily Beast, Bowman claimed that the World Trade Center building Number 7 was destroyed in a controlled demolition. He also contended that hijacked Flight 93 and Flight 77 caused minor damage.

“Web archives show that while Bowman was a 35-year-old educator running the Cornerstone Academy for Social Action in the Bronx, he maintained an online journal at Relentless-Strongback.Blogspot.com, where he published poems and brief essays there on personal, political, and pedagogical concerns through 2014,” the Daily Beast noted.

The posts were reportedly written before 2014. At that time, he was the principal of Cornerstone Academy for Social Action in the Bronx. Bowman allegedly deleted the posts in 2016 according to the New York Post.

“Bowman, 47, claimed that Osama bin Laden, a Saudi native, was ‘blamed’ for the attacks as an excuse to wage war in Afghanistan, when in fact the terror leader had openly taken credit for the massacre,” the New York Post reported.

“Investigators have determined that Building 7 buckled after debris from the Twin Towers started a fire, and hijackers steered Flight 77 into the Pentagon in Virginia, killing all 64 people on the plane and 125 in the building,” the outlet added. “Flight 93 crashed in rural Pennsylvania after passengers fought back against the hijackers. All 44 people aboard were killed.”

Bowman also pushed the 9/11 conspiracy theory movies “Loose Change” and “Zeitgeist” on his blog.

“‘Loose Change’ asserted that the US carried out the 9/11 attacks and ‘Zeitgeist’ promoted the suggestion that globalist bankers were behind the tragedy to influence the US to go to war and take on more debt,” the New York Post wrote.

While in office, Bowman has not promoted the 9/11 conspiracy theories and has commemorated the anniversary of the attacks. He has also distanced himself from the movies in his statement.

“I don’t believe anything that these cranks have said, and my life’s work has proven that. As a Congressman, I’ve written a Congressional Resolution condemning a dangerous conspiracy theory, I’ve stood up to MAGA extremists, and I’ve called out the endless bulls–t of the far-right,” he asserted according to the New York Post. “I regret posting anything about any of these people. Anyone who looks at my work today knows where I stand.”
