The U.S. House passed a $1.15 trillion defense spending bill Wednesday that included a controversial defense-technology pact with Israel.
The fiscal 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, included provisions allocating $750 million for US-Israel joint military projects.
According to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), it included “$500 million for missile defense, $100 million for counter‑unmanned systems, $100 million for subterranean operations, and $50 million for emerging technologies.”

“We applaud the inclusion of a new provision that will help keep America safe and bolster our strategic capabilities—The United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,” AIPAC said in a statement.
“This authorizes the Pentagon to work even closer together with Israel in the strategic arenas that will define 21st‑century warfare, ensuring American troops have a greater edge over our adversaries,” the group added.
Almost all Republicans but only six Democrats voted for the bill. Prior to the vote, far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called on her colleagues to reject it, calling the bill “an existential threat to American sovereignty”:

Rep. Mike Lawler, a Republican, fired back, accusing her of lying or being “obtuse.”
“Good grief, you are either obtuse or intentionally lying,” he wrote in a tweet. “We are not merging our military with the IDF. As we do with many of our allies, we enter into cooperative agreements, share intelligence, develop technology and ammunitions, and conduct military exercises together. Stop stoking Jew hatred and do better.”
Ocasio-Cortez was joined in her opposition by “Republicans” like Rep. Thomas Massie, who is among those who’ve falsely claimed that the bill would “merge our military tech and supply chain with Israel’s.”

The theory is so out there that even far-right agitator Nicholas J. Fuentes, a known anti-Semite, has dismissed it as nonsense.
“Who invented this idea that we are merging our militaries?” he said on a recent episode of his show. “Listen, I don’t support this [bill] at all. It’s awful. It’s very bad. But we’re not merging our military with Israel.”
“I don’t know who started saying that and how that caught on. It says that we will cooperate on technology development. That’s basically what it says. And there’s intelligence sharing,” he added.
Fuentes went on to call the merger theory “the f–king stupidest thing I’ve heard this year.”
Wednesday’s vote came a week after nearly half of House Democrats voted in favor of a radical measure calling for all military aid to Israel to be cut off.
“For the first time, at least in modern memory, a major political party has seen the majority of its party vote to cut military aid, all of it, to Israel,” PBS‘ Lisa Desjardins reported with shock on July 16.
“This happened yesterday in a vote in the House; 103 Democrats voted to strip all of the military funding to Israel — that’s about $3.3 billion — out of the bill. Now, most every Republican voted to keep the funding, so it did end up staying in that bill,” she added.
The only Republican who joined Democrats in their vote was Massie.

Massie is seen as a hardcore Israel hater who just recently lost his primary election after President Donald Trump endorsed his opponent.
