‘Superman: Legacy’ brings back ‘Truth, Justice, and the American Way’ motto after DC Comics dropped it

Director James Gunn will debut “Superman: Legacy” in 2025 and the movie will bring back “Truth, Justice, and the American Way” as the motto for the “Man of Steel” after DC Comics disastrously dropped it for the American-hating woke brand “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.”

DC Comics justified the move at the time, writing, “Superman’s new motto of ‘Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow’ will better reflect the global storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor the character’s incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world.”

According to the Daily Mail, Gunn is now in the process of cleaning up the progressive mess at DC Comics that has practically destroyed a bevy of superheroes using woke rhetoric and political bias to do so.

Warner Brothers stated in a synopsis of the upcoming film, “Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

It appears that Gunn is intent on restoring the reputation of DC’s comic character movies. He has already nixed some of the woke aspects of DC Comics and it appears he’s far from finished.

DC Comics not only got rid of the patriotic motto for Superman, but they also pushed a gay Superman comic that was a disaster for sales. The comic book was canceled after only 18 issues.

Comic book fans and the general public hated the leftist moves and there was severe backlash over it. One of the DC Comics artists quit over the blatant wokism and proceeded to start his own comic series. That conservative comic book endeavor brought in more than $3 million when it debuted.

Gunn sent out a number of tweets explaining why he was back and once again getting involved in the Superman franchise. He confirmed he will direct the next film and will bring Superman back to his “heritage.”

The slate is being wiped clean for Superman thanks to co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios.

According to Bounding in Comics, “Gunn hopes his movie will be ‘a four-quadrant film that should speak to everyone in the world.’ Safran is co-producing and calls Superman: Legacy the start of their DCU.”

Superman is one of the earliest and most iconic superheroes, dating back almost 90 years since his creation in the 1930s by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Movie stars ranging from Christopher Reeve to Dean Cain and Henry Cavill have played the “Man of Steel.”

“Truth, Justice, and the American Way” dates back to a “Superman” radio serial in the early 1940s amid World War II, according to NBC News. The saying was also used in the 1978 “Superman” movie adaptation.

Conservative film critic and host of the “Hollywood in Toto,” Podcast Christian Toto, told Fox News Digital, “The Superman motto restoration is a very minor item, but it didn’t happen in a vacuum. Hollywood is slowly realizing how off-putting woke theatrics can be, and the Biden economy is making studios pinch pennies in every possible way. If that means appeasing a huge swath of comic book fans eager for an old-school, all-American Superman, so be it.”

“We also saw this in the mostly apolitical Oscars ceremony. The message is finally hitting Hollywood. Stop dividing us and take a knee in the culture wars,” he added.
