Supreme Court Justice wife Ginni Thomas tells Jan 6 panel she still believes 2020 election was stolen from Trump

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife, Ginni, voluntarily testified behind closed doors to the Jan. 6th committee this Thursday, and now the media is predictably aflutter over what she reportedly said.

For instance, she admitted that she still believes the 2020 presidential election was effectively stolen from former President Donald Trump.

“Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, who chairs the January 6 committee, [said] that Thomas answered ‘some questions’ in her interview with the panel and reiterated her belief that the 2020 presidential election was stolen,” according to CNN.

This apparently provoked shock from CNN’s Jake Tapper.

“Even though 60 court cases, all the election boards, all the Trump supporting governors and attorneys general and secretaries of state, etc.,  etc., [have found] no evidence of widespread fraud that would have swung the election in any state. … And yet she still believes it? … That’s just wild. I mean, that’s just untethered from all the facts and evidence,” he said during a segment late Thursday.

Listen:

But Thompson didn’t specify why Thomas still believes the 2020 presidential election was stolen. There’s a chance it has to do less with alleged fraud and more to do with the documented effort that was made to alter the way elections function.

Recall that after the 2020 election, Time magazine published a piece titled, “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election.” The piece detailed how powerful, influential figures had teamed up prior to the election to effectively “rig” it.

“‘It was all very, very strange,’ Trump said on Dec. 2. ‘Within days after the election, we witnessed an orchestrated effort to anoint the winner, even while many key states were still being counted.’ In a way, Trump was right. There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs,” the piece read.

“This is the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election, based on access to the group’s inner workings, never-before-seen documents and interviews with dozens of those involved from across the political spectrum. … The participants want the secret history of the 2020 election told, even though it sounds like a paranoid fever dream — a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information.”

During her testimony Thursday, Ginni Thomas also revealed that her husband hadn’t been involved in her “post-election” activities.

“Regarding the 2020 election, I did not speak with him at all about the details of my volunteer campaign activities,” she reportedly said in her opening statement.

“And I did not speak with him at all about the details of my post-election activities, which were minimal, in any event. I am certain I never spoke with him about any of the legal challenges to the 2020 election, as I was not involved with those challenges in any way.”

Her “post-election” activities included raising concerns about possible fraud and voter irregularities, and encouraging both Trump administration officials and state officials to look into both.

“As she has said from the outset, Mrs. Thomas had significant concerns about fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election. And, as she told the Committee, her minimal and mainstream activity focused on ensuring that reports of fraud and irregularities were investigated,” Ginni’s attorney said in a statement after Thursday’s closed-door hearing.

She also attended the “Stop the Steal” rally last year, though she left before the infamous Jan. 6th riot erupted.

Nevertheless, Democrats have desperately been trying to link her to the Jan. 6th riot, ergo why they’ve been pressuring her to testify for months.

They’ve likewise tried to link Supreme Court Justice Thomas and his work to the riot as well through her, though as Ginny reportedly said Thursday, “my husband has never spoken with me about pending cases at the Court. It’s an iron clad rule in our home.”

“Additionally, [Justice Thomas] is uninterested in politics. And I generally do not discuss with him my day-to-day work in politics, the topics I am working on, who I am calling, emailing, texting, or meeting,” she added.

Not that leftists believe her. Indeed, even after her mild testimony, they’re still calling for both her and her husband to be arrested and/or impeached.

For what? Who knows.
