Imagine sitting in traffic when a plane suddenly drops from the sky and crash lands right in front of you — that’s precisely what happened to a motorist in Orlando, Florida, who just happened to record the terrifying encounter on video.
The good news here being that the pilot walked away from the crash landing with just minor injuries and no one on the ground was injured.
The incident took place midafternoon Friday and was caused by mechanical failure, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Orange County Traffic Alert:
Troopers are currently on-scene of a plane crash. The eastbound lanes of University Blvd near Hall Road are currently blocked. The pilot sustained minor injuries. “All of a sudden it started to drop, and that’s when we were like, ‘Oh my God.’ I just kind of freaked,” Skuban told WESH TV.
Ben Stillman, who lives nearby, told the NBC affiliate: “We heard a big crash, kinda like a car crash, and we assumed it was a car crash. Our house is right over there and we peeped over the fence and we just see this plane sitting in the driveway.”
