Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton reacted after surviving an attempt by his political enemies to remove him from office over allegations of corruption, prevailing in a “sham” impeachment when he was acquitted on Saturday.
The Lone Star State’s top law enforcement official was fully acquitted of the 16 impeachment articles after a nine-day trial at the State Capitol in Austin, a historic closely-watched proceeding that ultimately failed to result in his ouster, much to the chagrin of RINOs and Democrats who were hoping to strike down their conservative foe, an ally of former President Donald J. Trump.
“The jury has spoken,” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott in a statement after the acquittal. “Attorney General Paxton received a fair trial as required by the Texas Constitution. Attorney General Paxton has done an outstanding job representing Texas, especially pushing back against the Biden administration. I look forward to continuing to work with him to secure the border and protect Texas from federal overreach.”

With his clearance on all charges, Paxton will now be allowed to return to work after being suspended in May, issuing a fiery statement in which he decried the weaponization of the law and put the Biden regime on notice that he’s coming after them.
“Today, the truth prevailed. The truth could not be buried by mudslinging politicians or their powerful benefactors. I’ve said many times: Seek the truth! And that is what was accomplished,” Paxton said in the statement posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“The sham impeachment coordinated by the Biden administration with liberal House Speaker Dade Phelan and his kangaroo court has cost taxpayers millions of dollars, disrupted the work of the Office of the Attorney General, and left a dark and permanent stain on the Texas House,” the attorney general said. “The weaponization of the impeachment process to settle political differences is not only wrong, it is immoral and corrupt.”
“I can promise the Biden administration the following: Buckle up because your lawless politics will not go unchallenged,” Paxton vowed. “We will not allow you to shred the constitution and infringe on the rights of Texans. You will be held accountable.”
Paxton’s acquittal drew a response from former President Donald J. Trump, another conservative Republican who has been targeted by the Biden regime and its apparatchiks using down and dirty Lawfare tactics.
“Congratulations to the Great People of Texas, and the State Senate, for rejecting POLITICAL PERSECUTION, and respecting the Integrity of our Elections. We should choose our elected officials by VOTING, not by weaponizing government. That is for Banana Republics, and Third World Countries. Now Attorney General Ken Paxton can get back to work. He’s one of the BEST!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Paxton isn’t in the clear yet, he still faces an investigation from the FBI, the once universally respected federal law enforcement agency that has been weaponized by Democrats and now acts as the party’s secret police, at least in the opinion of many including the nearly half of Americans who see the Bureau as Joe Biden’s “personal Gestapo” according to a Rasmussen survey released in early 2022.
The reinstated attorney general will tell his tale to the nation in an upcoming interview with Tucker Carlson.
