Texas Dem has a diagnosis for America: Capitalism and ‘white supremacy’ are the virus

Texas Senate candidate James Talarico has changed his stance on capitalism, and the DSA voters aren’t going to like this.

At an event with billionaire Mark Cuban, Talarico announced that the pair had teamed up to take on “Big Medicine monopolies” in an effort to reform healthcare. He also said that he appreciates Cuban’s fight for “old school capitalism,” which is a far cry from his previous thoughts on the subject. Andrew Kaczynski even reported that the candidate’s campaign told CNN that his past views on the issue “missed the mark” and were “cringey.”

Look:

“Talarico campaign tells CNN his ‘cringey,’ past comments ‘missed the mark,’ and he’s a capitalist who supports oil and gas,” he wrote.

But what exactly were those comments?

Well, X users dug up some of his previous statements on capitalism and it sounds like something ripped straight out of the DSA playbook:

“NEW: In a 2020 Zoom forum with climate activists, James Talarico spoke of ‘dismantling’ capitalism, grouping it with White supremacy and climate change. In the same forum, he compared Texas’ oil industry to ‘cassette tapes,’ saying it’s ‘not gonna last,'” Kaczynski wrote.

No wonder he’s trying to distance himself from his previous insanity; that definitely would be disqualifying in Texas.

He’s also made some bizarre comments about “whiteness,” which he has also tried to walk back, saying the attacks on him are “out of context”:
