Thank you, now get out: Biden calls to thank hero Coast Guard rescuer, avoids fact he’s losing job over vaxx mandate

While everyone else was running for shelter from the brutal onslaught of Hurricane Ian, as a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, Aviation Survival Technician Second Class Zach Loesch was hurling himself out of helicopters, jumping into the middle of the tempest to save lives — a fact the President of the United States acknowledged with a personal phone call of gratitude.

But what Joe Biden forgot to mention was that Loesch will likely be dismissed from his life-saving job thanks to the commander in chief’s COVID vaccine mandate.

Thankfully, Twitter is here to remind him in the wake of a publicity stunt that quickly went off the rails.

President Biden wanted the world to know he made a phone call. Of that, there is no doubt.

The White House issued a press release about the call and Biden highlighted it in his update on the hurricane response.

“He also spoke to Aviation Survival T—” the President began before, it would seem, he realized that he was the one who made the call.

He began again.

“I also spoke to Aviation Survival — Second Class — Technician Second Class Zach Loesch, who described how difficult the decision is for people to leave everything and come to safety,” he said.

“I told him how proud of him I was and thanked him for all the work he and his Coasties are doing to save lives,” the president continued. “I’m grateful for the brave women and men — federal, state, and local folks working so hard.  They’re all working as one team.  I hear that from the governor as well as from the federal folks.”

According to the White House, “President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. spoke today with Lieutenant Commander Christopher Hooper and Aviation Survival Technician Second Class Zach Loesch to personally thank them for the heroic work that they and their Coast Guard colleagues have performed during search and rescue operations in response to Hurricane Ian.”

“The President thanked them for saving lives and asked for a report on the work that continues to rescue Floridians,” the release continued. “He also asked if they needed any additional support that he can provide to accelerate successful rescues; they indicated they have gotten what they need to execute their vital mission.”

While the goal of the public display of gratitude may have been to show how engaged Biden is with devastated Floridians, the illusion was shattered when it was revealed by Breitbart that Loesch is set to be booted from the Coast Guard in 30-60 days for not subjecting himself to Biden’s authoritarian mandate, which dictates that every member of the United States Armed Forces be fully vaxxed.

Loesch tried to work within the system to continue saving lives. He requested an exemption based on religious grounds, but like so many members of our military, he was denied that “additional support.”

“If I had asked any of the people I saved yesterday if they wanted to come with me even though I am unvaccinated, every single one of them would have said ‘yes,'” Loesch told Breitbart News.

“It just sucks that he thanked me yet the vaccine mandate is what’s kicking me out,” he said. “I just love my job and I’m really good at it.”

The hero, who kicked through a wall to rescue a disabled woman and her husband, didn’t want to ruin the call with his commander, so he didn’t mention his looming discharge.

“It sucks,” he repeated. “I feel like this is the job that I was born to do.”

Over on Twitter, angry users are happy to bring the dark irony of the call to the president’s attention.

“The @JoeBiden administration doesn’t want the best and the brightest in our military,” one user stated plainly, while another noted that “no good deed goes unpunished.”

“@POTUS yes sir there is something you can do to help these brave men and women continue their lifesaving duties…..” yet another user tweeted. “RESCIND THE VACCINE MANDATE! NOW!”

In the end, Christina Pushaw, the always-on-point rapid response director for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, dropped the mic on the whole affair with a simple retweet: “The Florida State Guard has no vaccine mandate and is accepting applications: flsg.myflorida.com/how-to-apply/
