For all the talk about a so-called insurrection on January 6, 2021, the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday ushered in a new date of infamy: July 8, 2024.
It was on that date that President Joe Biden called for putting Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, “in a bullseye,” suggesting an actual rebellion against democracy.
“We’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye,” Biden said in a call with hundreds of top Democratic donors and bundlers.
“Defend that. Go ahead. Try to defend that rhetoric after what we all just witnessed with Trump coming within a centimeter of being assassinated,” posted media reporter and Fox News contributor Joe Concha.

You may recall that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — a Republican — was skewered by the media in 2011 for a political ad that used rifle crosshairs after former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot by a constituent.
Palin was accused of fueling the gunman’s rage when her political action committee SarahPac placed crosshairs over congressional districts, including Giffords district, being targeted during the upcoming election.
After the Gabby Giffords shooting @NYDailyNews published a column headlined “Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ blood is on Sarah Palin’s hands after putting cross hair over district.”

Democrats have spent the last eight years demonizing Trump and have even taken to referring to him outright as Hitler — this being the same cabal suddenly calling for lowering the temperature on political rhetoric.

Keep in mind that House Democrats, led by Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the former chair of the sham Jan. 6 select committee, recently introduced a bill that would strip Secret Service protection from those who have been convicted of a federal or state felony that carries a minimum one-year prison term.
Trump, who awaits sentencing in his hush money criminal trial, was the clear target of the endeavor.

As for Thompson, a person identified as a field director for the Democrat responded to Trump nearly being killed by posting: “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.”
