‘These charges are nothings … if this is all there is’: Bret Baier throws cold water on Hunter Biden leaks

Fox News’ various hosts and guests are wholly unimpressed by the news that the FBI has collected enough evidence to charge President Joe Biden’s crack-smoking son Hunter with committing tax crimes and making a false statement to purchase a gun.

During a discussion Thursday on Fox News’s “The Story,” host Martha MacCallum and colleague Bret Baier seemed underwhelmed by the announcement given all that’s known about Hunter Biden’s notorious activities.

Listen:

“So, Bret, you know, obviously, all of this is going to lead to a lot of folks on the other side of the aisle saying these are nothings, right? These charges are nothings, and they’re trying to move this ball away,” MacCallum noted.

“And looking at this article, it is fair to come to that conclusion if this is all there is,” Baier replied, referencing The Washington Post’s write-up.

Published earlier that afternoon, the report simply stated that the federal agents who’ve been “investigating President Biden’s son Hunter have gathered what they believe is sufficient evidence to charge him with tax crimes and a false statement related to a gun purchase.”

Continuing his response, Baier noted how the article contained nothing about Hunter’s dealings with China and Ukraine — not to mention the president’s own documented ties to these dealings.

“The foreign government connection, which is really the big tie potentially to President Biden and how that would possibly impact his interactions with China, his interactions with other countries, that’s not in this article,” he said.

Nor was Tony Bobulinski’s name.

“Tony Bobulinski is a very credible witness because he has stuff that goes back to that time and no one talks to him from that time on. It’s just crickets chirping. And that’s an amazing thing if you think about a Justice Department investigation of any kind,” Baier concluded.

Dovetailing off of what Baier had said, MacCallum chimed back in by also pointing to the whistleblowers who’d gone to congressional Republicans to complain about the FBI trying to cover up the Hunter Biden story.

“And then you have the whistleblowers who went to Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley from the FBI and said this thing is getting —  it’s getting buried. And they were very upset about the fact that it was getting buried. And now you’ve got this development,” she said.

Over on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” meanwhile, famed Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon spoke about how these potential charges “deflect from the entire scope of the Biden family’s international influence peddling for years.”

“This whole issue is really not about Hunter Biden, and if there’s a talk about a plea deal with Hunter Biden, it’s to actually draw the sting away from the allegations, and the allegations are very serious,” she said.

“Dating back to the Obama years, the Biden family has been engaged in serious influence peddling with foreign countries. There are indisputable ties to China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania.”

This is all true and has been previously documented.

“The former wife of the former mayor of Moscow transferred 3.5 million dollars to Hunter Biden. That appears to be some form of money laundering. And so for all of those allegations … you’re talking about a couple of small charges,” Dhillon continued.

“And so this is all to lead attention away from Joe Biden, who, as Tony Bobulinski has been saying for the last couple of years and he would know as a former business partner, is intimately involved in these influence puddling and money laundering and other activities that are criminal in nature by the Biden family.”

Listen:

Continuing her remarks, Dhillon called for congressional Republicans to initiate their own investigation into the Bidens once they retake the House.

“What the Biden family — not Hunter Biden, but Hunter Biden, Jim Biden Joe Biden  — are accused of doing credibly is very big and is international in scope. And so I think that nothing is going to end up happening here. It would be a gift to the Biden family if Hunter Biden were offered the ability to plead to a couple of minor offenses and pay some money,” she said.

“This needs to be pursued. It needs to be pursued by the House if Republicans take back control. And we need to see justice done in this case because we have like the Ukrainian money flowing in the billions right now. I think you have to look at the ties of the Biden family to corrupt activities in that part to the world, that you would be a fool to ignore those facts.”

To be fair, the current Department of Justice and FBI are brimming with fools
