Americans look to their president to be the calm in the storm, the rational voice that keeps the United States — and the world — on an even keel amid potential crises, but it doesn’t appear that President Joe Biden got that meme — or if he did, he quickly forgot the enclosed message.
With Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy seemingly calling on the West to launch preemptive strikes into Russia to stop what many perceive to be nuclear threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the fear that World War III could be on the horizon is prevalent.
So what does President Biden do? The commander-in-chief declares that the risk of “Armageddon” is at the highest level since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis — without offering any solutions.
The nuclear doomsday assessment was shared Thursday during a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser, according to the Associated Press, which reported that Biden said Putin was “a guy I know fairly well” and the Russian leader was “not joking when he talks about the use of tactical nuclear weapons or biological or chemical weapons.”
“We have not faced the prospect of Armageddon since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis,” the president added.
The Russian military has been dealing with “massive setbacks,” the news agency noted, with Biden saying the threat from Putin is real “because his military is — you might say — significantly underperforming.”
Conservative radio host Clay Travis responded to the news by reminding followers how the political class, to include the media, insisted in 2020 that Biden was the “safe choice” for president.
Joe Biden just said the risk of nuclear Armageddon is at its highest level since 1962. Remember when all the blue checks on here told you Biden was the safe choice for president? Welp, here we are.

Actor James Woods tweeted this take: “As the tired policies of this bitter political hack become one sad catastrophe after another, will he finally end the world in nuclear war in his last grasp for power?”
Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
When the media ran Biden’s 2020 campaign, they promised not just the removal of the peacetime prosperity president they loathed but to replace him with what they claimed would be competent adult leadership. What they’ve done is stumble us to the brink of nuclear “Armageddon.” https://t.co/7fsUNHjlfK

Joe Biden: Unfortunately folks, we’re on the precipice of Nuclear Armageddon
Folks: Thanks for the update, Mr. President. Good thing this has nothing to do with your current policy of orchestrating massive warfare against the country with the world’s largest nuclear arsenal

Biden warns of impending nuclear Armageddon. Who had this in their bingo card for 2022?
