Tough talk from the House’s top Democrat went beyond claiming to be above the law as he appeared to issue threats against those who would enforce it.
“They’ll find out.”
Seemingly striving to get as America Last as they possibly can, leftists chose the defense of foreign terrorist organization-designated gang member illegal aliens as their preferred hill to die on. Dismissing any pre-election appeal to “turn down the temperature,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) warned law enforcement against arresting politicians for any alleged crimes committed at an ICE detention facility.
During a Tuesday press conference, Jeffries was asked what would happen if New Jersey Democratic Reps. LaMonica McIver, Rob Menendez Jr., or Bonnie Watson Coleman were to be arrested over the alleged assault of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents that was said to have taken place at ICE’s Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Friday.
“They’ll find out,” he said before repeating himself as the reporter sought clarity. “They’ll find out. They’ll find out. That’s a red line. It’s a red line. It’s very clear … There are clear lines that they just dare not cross.”

The minority leader wasn’t alone in fueling what could prove to be a prologue to summer protest season as New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) continued her gripe with the Department of Homeland Security and border czar Tom Homan in defense of the New Jersey lawmakers.
“If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security. It’s people like Tom Homan and [DHS] Secretary Kristi Noem,” she contended in a Sunday Instagram video. “You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman … or any of the representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem.”
“Because the people who are breaking the law are the people not abiding by it,” she went on, as the only arrest of a public official thus far has been Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D) on a trespassing charge.
Since then, protests have continued outside the detention center, including so-called faith leaders locking arms along the perimeter, preventing emergency vehicles from entering the gate.

In response to Ocasio-Cortez’s apparent warning, DHS Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told Fox Business’s “The Bottom Line” co-host David Asman, “If she trespasses and if she assaults law enforcement officers, as we saw earlier, I think that’s certainly on the table. As far as we’ve heard, a lot of Democrats make the argument that they’re just conducting oversight, congressional oversight.”
Jeffries commented on that as well when he told the press, “First of all, I think that the so-called homeland security spokesperson is a joke. It’s a joke. They know better than to go down that road. And it’s been made loudly and abundantly clear to the Trump administration. We’re not gonna be intimidated by their tactics to try to force principled opposition from not standing up to their extremism.”
In addition to calling out the legislators who placed themselves above the law, reactions to the apparent threats were met with a plea to law enforcement, “Holy hell just arrest them so we can all find out please.”

What’s he going to about it?

Democrats;
Arresting a former president = totally normal
Arresting a mayor and congresspeople = crossing the red line

But those congressman crossed a literal line and broke into an ICE facility while simultaneously assaulting a federal officer.
Is he trying to say that those in Congress are above the law?

Who is “they,” Hakeem? Why the tight lip? If you’re going to threaten someone, threaten them. Be a man.

Is he making threats? Is he threatening an insurrection?
