Tucker Carlson weighed in on his former Fox News colleague Mark Levin’s take that a top Jewish Trump administration official was trafficking in anti-Semitic tropes when he correctly pointed out that neocons are fanatical warmongers.
Levin seemed to accuse President Donald J. Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff of being an anti-Semite when during a recent interview he stated that “the neocon element believes that war is the only way to solve things” while explaining the president’s belief that the “force” of his personality is the key to resolving situations.
“By the way, neocon is a pejorative for Jew. Unbelievable,” Levin wrote in a recent post to X, sharing a clip of Witkoff’s comments.

Carlson begged to differ and during a discussion with comic and political commentator Dave Smith on the latest edition of his podcast, he chided Levin for his “peak crazy” comment.

“Mark Levin, who I also know, I mean, I’ve been in the right-wing world my whole life. I know everybody. I worked with Mark, I’ve always gotten along with Mark, always been nice to me, but yeah, he just accused Trump, the Trump administration of anti-Semitism for calling someone a neocon,” Carlson said, going on to explain how Witkoff is “a thoroughly decent man and he was running around the world trying to bring peace” who was instrumental in securing the freedom of Jewish hostages taken by Hamas terrorists.
“So here’s what he said, I actually wrote this down because I was really bothered by it,” Tucker continued. “This is Levin on Twitter, Mark Levin, who works at Fox, which basically seems to turn its programming over to advocating for a war with Iran. ‘Neocon is a pejorative for Jew, unbelievable,’ and this is in response to Witkoff saying, quote, ‘The neocon element believes that war is the only way to solve things,’ so you have Mark Levin calling Steve Witkoff an anti-Semite.”
“We’ve reached peak crazy, I mean, I think Witkoff is Jewish, right?” Carlson added.
Although the original neoconservatives were primarily left-wing Jewish intellectuals, the term has expanded to include those who, in the last several decades, have advocated for U.S. involvement in costly and ruinous foreign wars that are not in the nation’s best interests. John Bolton, Dick and Liz Cheney and Nikki Haley are a few examples.
And it’s not just Tucker. Levin was ripped by X users over the post.
Possibly your worst take ever.
NEOCON can indeed be used as a pejorative, but it doesn’t refer exclusively to any religion, ethnicity, gender, or age group.

Neocon got nothing to do with being Jewish
Not everything is antisemitic

Do you think weaponizing accusations of bigotry against the presidents friend and millions of conservatives in order to make selling your war easier is a good strategy?

I like your work but it isn’t right to conflate being a Neocon with being Jewish.

John McCain was Jewish?

I’m a long time fan, but it’s absolutely nonsense that neocon is a pejorative for Jew. I’ve been using that term for 30 years and it’s never been about Jews and I don’t know anyone who uses it that way in DC. Don’t be woke with this clear nonsense.

Neocons are no different than leftists in their tactics. No arguments, just attempts to silence their opponents in their lust for war. https://t.co/4H0WwuOGR6

Levin has always been a war whore. Most neocons are not Jewish & many of their harshest critics are Jewish. https://t.co/neqzLiQetF

What a ridiculous claim. Everyone knows NeoCon simply means war monger.

Levin was also fact-checked by X user notes, which linked to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary’s definition of neoconservative, which doesn’t match that of the easily-triggered Fox News host.
