‘This isn’t the argument she thinks it is’: AOC set straight by Twitter when desperate Jim Jordan dunk fails

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) embarrassed herself again, this time over the issue of gun control, as she tried a “gotcha” move against Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) on Twitter and ended up illustrating that gun violence is rampant in Democrat-run cities.

As America readied itself for the House Committee on Jan. 6’s first prime-time special on Thursday, Jordan asked a simple question: “When’s the primetime hearing on record crime in Democrat-run cities?”

Ocasio-Cortez was quick with a response — one that even came with a CBS News report as backup.

“According to CBS News out of the Top 10 deadliest cities in America, 7 of them are in Republican-run states,” she stated. “Now, follow-up question: were you one of the members who sought a pardon after Jan 6th? I didn’t.”

While AOC may have thought she’d just totally “owned” Jordan with a righteous zinger, she apparently didn’t realize what her “murder map” actually illustrated.

Twitter was quick to help her out.

“Spoiler: 10 of 10 are in cities run by democrats, and Id venture to say every person that represents them in the state house is a democrat,” replied NYC Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli. “This isn’t the argument she thinks it is.”

“Meet the Mayors of AOC’s Top 10 deadliest cities,” said another user, who compiled a list of  mayors in St. Louis, MO; Baltimore, MD; Birmingham, AL; Detroit, MI; Dayton, OH; Baton Rouge, LA; New Orleans, LA; Kansas City, MO; Memphis, TN; and Cleveland, OH.

Sure enough, each of the city leaders is a Democrat.

It was enough to make the incredibly popular account known as “Catturd” bust a virtual gut.

“This makes no sense,” stated another user. “Every one of those 10 deadliest cities has a Democrat executive. Most have only elected Democrats for years. Why would you be looking at the State Governors when pointing to deadliest cities…”

“Oh, I don’t know…” replied yet another user, “could it be because she still doesn’t understand how our system of government works?”

Perhaps, but that hasn’t stopped Ocasio-Cortez from passionately speaking about the subject.

As American Wire reported, the Congresswoman attacked gun manufacturers in a House hearing on Wednesday for profits they earned from firearm sales.

“This is about blood money,” she argued. “Between 2019 and 2021, two years, leading gun manufacturers Sturm and Ruger saw gross profits double to almost $280 million.”

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), 5.4 million Americans purchased a gun for the first time in 2021.

“The Congresswoman is protected by firearms on Capitol Hill which are produced by the same manufacturers producing firearms for law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights,” said NSSF spokesperson Mark Oliva.

“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez reveals her anger isn’t for an industry that produces a Constitutionally-protected product but for the millions of Americans who choose to exercise their Second Amendment rights every year,” he continued. “That includes the over 14 million Americans that purchased a firearm for the first time in 2020 and 2021.”
