‘This tweet did not age well’: Geraldo Rivera eats crow over ugly DeSantis prediction

The problem with all the so-called political experts is that they know so little of that which they claim expertise over. Case in point, a prediction from Fox News host Geraldo Rivera regarding Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that did not age well at all.

In response to DeSantis sending two plane loads of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard back in September, which Rivera denounced as “shameless, sleazy, exploitation,” he tweeted: “Governor DeSantis will soon feel the wrath of Florida’s Latino voters outraged by his toying with the lives of those Venezuelan refugees he exploited.”

Fast forward to Election Day, which saw DeSantis defeat his Democratic opponent by historic proportions — nearly 20 pts, and Rivera was left with a little egg on his face and opted to get out in front of the storm of ridicule that awaited him by tweeting in response to his initial tweet: “This Tweet did not age well.”

The landslide win DeSantis enjoyed was so dominant — he drew 1.6 million more votes than Democrat Charlie Crist — that the Miami Herald, seen as a leading in-state adversary of the Republican governor, ran with this headline: “DeSantis rides huge boost in Hispanic support to historic Miami-Dade victory.”

The newspaper noted that DeSantis “decisively took Miami-Dade County by the largest margin of any Republican candidate for governor in at least the past 40 years on his path to re-election,” and that he “won roughly 65% of the vote in majority Hispanic precincts.”

NBC News had previously reported polling showed that DeSantis’ support among Hispanic voters in Florida was strong and that a majority of Hispanic voters approved of the flights to Martha’s Vineyard flights.

As for poor ol’ Geraldo, social media was quick to have a little fun at HIS expense… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
