As severe winter weather swept across the U.S., burying communities in snow and ice, shutting down roads, and knocking out power for thousands.
A bright spot in the efforts to combat the weather in Washington, D.C. appeared in the form of a “princess” driving a snowplow. Princess Cat appeared in a news clip discussing the “nasty” road conditions and urged residents to stay home.

But it was her tiara that caught the most attention as viewers immediately cheered on the “diva” working to clear the district’s streets.
“If you can prevent it, do not come out here. Stay home today, please,” she told a WUSA-TV reporter in a clip posted by the outlet’s Spencer Allan Brooks.

“Allow us to get the roads together and plow, because this is going to take time,” said the driver who is employed by the D.C. Dept. of Public Works. “As fast as I might clear a street, it’s getting bad again. So please, everyone, stay off the roads.”
The tiara-wearing driver explained that she works 12-hour shifts, beginning at midnight, to clear the streets in her designated area. Describing herself as a “heavy plow” driver, she has reportedly been at the job for 20 years.

“Your road has been plowed, but it’s coming down pretty hard,” she told WUSA. ‘We have the entire DC to do and all of us are broken down into different wards.”
The interview went viral on social media as viewers wanted to know who the royal hero was.

“Crown is NOT slipping… and we don’t want you to either!” the DC Department of Public Works wrote in a post along with the clip of Princess Cat. “Keep giving our teams space to treat the ice.”
A queen knows to always wear her crown. We love to see it.
