Tlaib revealed as member of secret online group that glorifies Hamas terrorists

Increased scrutiny of censured Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib revealed membership in a secret online group of pro-Hamas sympathizers.

Through a history of remarks and positions decried by critics as antisemitic, reluctance to condemn the Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel and repeated demands for a ceasefire, it’s been no mystery where the congresswoman stands when it comes to the Middle East. However, according to a new report from Fox News Digital, what has gone under the radar has been Tlaib’s participation in the private Facebook group, Palestinian American Congress/USA.

Hidden from outsiders and not readily discoverable by the platform’s search engine, the outlet gained access to the page that showed the legislator’s six-year membership with the group that featured an array of pro-Hamas posts prior to and in the wake of the terror attacks that slaughtered more than 1,400 people.

Fox News Digital called out specific content that included one member’s Oct. 12 post that showed an elderly Israel woman held captive by a jihadist that read, “We don’t want to throw you in the sea … We want you to ride it back from where you came.”

A week later, another user posted an image of a masked terrorist that detailed “achievements of the resistance in northern occupied Palestine” that included “40 soldiers killed and injured…”

Shortly after her 2018 election to Congress, Tlaib’s membership in the group had been detailed along with her connections to the group’s founder, a key fundraiser, activist Maher Abdel-qader.

“Research the truth about the Holocaust, and you’ll definitely start to question what you thought you knew,” the narrator of an antisemitic video posted in 2018 by Abdel-qader stated while challenging the idea the Jews are actually Jewish.

On his own Facebook page Monday, the activist promoted an upcoming event with Tlaib and freshman “Squad” member Pennsylvania Rep. Summer Lee noting they “wholeheartedly support our community and the just cause of Palestine…”

Meanwhile, on Oct. 10 post to the group asserted, “Since yesterday I have been attached to the TV watching the news. I was disgusted from most of the American Media specially CNN and Fox. You, and the people directing you are the problem, you created it almost 100 years ago, made it official 75 years ago and you have been feeding its flam ever since.”

“You consider Hamas a terrorist organization and I am not going to argue with you at the same time you have been broadcasting that they are killing women and children, guess what that is what terrorists do at the same time no mention to the killing of Palestinian women, children and entire families killed on daily basses by the peace loving state of Israel using American gifts of weapons and jet fighters [sic],” the post went on before adding further talking points demonizing the history of Israel.

“Yesterday I didn’t see Hamas I saw the grand kids of the refugees that ethnically cleansed from their homeland attacking the grand kids of the colonists whom sent them to the Diaspora,” the user concluded.

Abdel-qader has continually referred to Israel as an apartheid state while leveling accusations of genocide since the nation was attacked. He also referred to the debunked story about Israel bombing a hospital in the Gaza Strip by writing, “Israeli Nazis air strike [sic] on Ahli Arab Hospital killed more than 500 people stop the massacre now.”

Tlaib’s own behavior and comments following the Oct. 7 attack resulted in her being censured by the House of Representatives in a vote of 234-188.
