Trace Adkins unapologetic for supporting Trump: ‘I ain’t asking forgiveness for sh*t’

Country singer Trace Adkins is not one to hold back on his thoughts and feelings, and he’s not one to apologize for how he thinks and feels.

Adkins, who moonlights as an actor, appeared on “Real Time with Bill Maher” over the weekend to promote his new show on Fox titled “Monarch,” and he could not have been more clear that he has no remorse for being a Trump supporter.

“I ain’t asking forgiveness for sh*t,” he boldly declared, as the audience applauded.

His remarks can be seen in the video below, with the discussion beginning just after the 8-minute mark:

The discussion was on the country splitting into red states and blue states, with many Americans being uncomfortable expressing their political views publicly, with Adkins participating in a panel along with journalist Julia Ioffe and writer Jon Meacham.

“I don’t want to have to go along with everything blue because sometimes they’re not right in my view and that’s okay,” host Bill Maher said. “And I don’t want to have to choose sides.”

Meacham chimed in to take a shot at MAGA Republicans while saying both sides need to accept the rule of law.

“I think when you launch an attack on the Capitol, and you undermine the one thing we’ve got that enables this other experiment to go on and I’m not saying the other side’s perfect. But I think a lot of Republicans, see if you agree with this, I think a lot of Republicans who don’t like Trump want forgiveness, but they don’t wanna repent,” Meacham said.

That’s when Adkins stated clearly that he’s not about to apologize for backing Donald Trump.

The left continues to seize on the Jan. 6, 2021, protest that got out of hand, associating the actions of a few hundred people — who may or may not have been all Trump supporters — with tens of millions of Republican voters, doing so with a hearty assist from the corporate media.

Earlier on the program, Maher laughingly ambushed Adkins with this question: “Who won the last election? I’m sorry I didn’t… just thought I’d sneak that in.”

“Joe Biden won the last election,” Adkins replied without hesitation.

When Maher reacted with surprise, the country music star asked, “What did you think I was going to say?”
