One of former President Donald J. Trump’s lawyers raised eyebrows with her prediction that one Supreme Court justice will rule in favor of the GOP frontrunner over the state of Colorado’s unprecedented banning of his name from the ballot.
Alina Habba made her provocative remarks during a Thursday appearance on Fox News where she told host Sean Hannity that conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh, a Trump appointee, would be a “slam dunk” in a ruling that will likely have far-reaching consequences that could put a dagger through the heart of American democracy.

“Nobody that I know has even been charged with anything involving insurrection, let alone convicted of it,” Hannity said, asking for her thoughts. “I would imagine this has to be a unanimous decision by the Supreme Court. They have to take it in my view.”
“I think it’ll clarify a lot of confusion amongst the states, amongst these rogue people like the woman we see in Maine who’s not even a lawyer, who thinks she can find some obscure section of some statute and apply it to a former president,” Habba replied, referring to Maine’s rabidly partisan Secretary of State Shenna Bellows who unilaterally disqualified Trump from the ballot last month. “He has not been charged with insurrection. He has not been prosecuted for it. He has not been found guilty of it.”
“But this state as in Colorado would like to find him guilty of it and take him off the ballot,” she added, explaining the meaning of “insurrection” under the 14th Amendment which has been twisted into a lawfare weapon against Trump by Democrats and their operatives.
“I think it should be a slam dunk in the Supreme Court,” she added. “I have faith in them. You know, people like Kavanaugh, who the president fought for, who the president went through hell to get into place, he’ll step up. Those people will step up. Not because they’re pro-Trump, but because they’re pro-law, because they’re pro-fairness. And the law on this is very clear.”
Habba’s remarks were pounced on by leftists who are determined to force conservative justices to recuse themselves from the critical ruling, an unforced error that was a belated Christmas gift to Democrats.
X users reacted to the highly unusual dropping of Kavanaugh’s name which will only provide more fuel to the fire.
Can’t overstate how bad Trump’s attorney is.

…that’s a great way to force Kavanaugh to recuse himself

Why does Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba think that Justice Kavanaugh will “step up” for Trump in the impending SCOTUS cases? Weird. It almost seems like he expects Kavanaugh to do him a favor, though.

She’s broadcasting that Kavanaugh and SCOTUS owe Trump?

Quid Pro Quo anyone?

Alina Habba is a terrible lawyer. She may have single handedly forced Kavanaugh to recuse. At the very least she’s made it difficult for him to rule in Trump’s favor.
Roberts can’t be feeling great about this either. Thomas may already have to recuse.

“During a Thursday appearance on Patrick Bet-David’s “PDB” podcast, Habba was asked by co-host Adam Sosnick about whether her good looks had anything to do with her being hired.
“You’re capable, you’re smart, you’re intelligent, you’re loyal. You have all the qualifications. But you’re also an attractive woman. You know, we saw what happened with Johnny Depp when, you know, Amber Heard’s on the stand… And Johnny Depp’s lawyer: female, capable, amazing, there’s just a different dynamic when a woman is questioning a woman, or a woman is basically representing a man…,” he said.
“You know, say what you will about Trump, alpha man, you know, you would suspect he picks an alpha guy. But he picks a feminine, smart, capable woman. How much of you being an attractive, smart woman do you think played a role in this?” Sosnick asked.
“I don’t think I’d be on TV or sitting here if I didn’t look the way I look. I think I caught attention. I’m very honest about that, and I don’t mind. I’m not a feminist. Okay? I believe in strong women, but I want my door opened…,” she said. “Somebody said to me, ‘Alina, would you rather be smart or pretty?’ And I said, ‘Oh, easy. Pretty. I can fake being smart.’”
“Listen, like, you have to be honest. It doesn’t hurt to be good-looking in this world, in the PR world, on TV. It doesn’t hurt. And when you’re good-looking, that’s great, but it can also mean people think you’re stupid,” Habba said, adding, “People think President Trump hired me because I was good-looking. That is absolutely not the case.”
