Trump blasts California over mass mail-in voting: ‘Gavin hates election integrity’

President Donald Trump on Friday excoriated California and its governor, Gavin Newsom, over their corrupt election procedures.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One about California’s just-passed redistricting plan — which, FYI, the Trump administration has now formally joined a lawsuit against — the president unleashed.

“I heard that a big lawsuit will be taking place, is, but will be taking place concerning the California hoax, where they’re trying to get five more seats,” he began. “And California is one of the most dishonest elections ever.”

“They send out tens of billions of ballots to people all over the place. Many of those people get two or three ballots, and they come back. California is a disgrace on voting, and they’re doing something that is very illegal. So, we are or will be suing California on the five seats,” he added.

The “five seats” referenced the outcome of Proposition 50, a just-passed constitutional amendment that authorized the redrawing of California’s congressional map “to give Democrats a shot at winning five seats now held by Republicans,” according to PBS News.

A day before Trump’s remarks, the Department of Justice announced that it intends to try to overturn the new district map.

“California’s redistricting scheme is a brazen power grab that tramples on civil rights and mocks the democratic process,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a statement. “Governor Newsom’s attempt to entrench one-party rule and silence millions of Californians will not stand.”

After Proposition 50 passed on Nov. 4, the California Republican Party and 19 registered voters sued California, accusing the state of using this newly granted power to redraw congressional lines based on race.

“Substantial evidence, including that in the legislative record and public statements, indicate that the legislature created a new map in which Latino demographics and racial considerations predominated,” according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release.

The Trump administration has reportedly officially joined this suit.

“The end result is a map that manipulates district lines in the name of bolstering the voting power of Hispanic Californians because of their race,” DOJ lawyers wrote in a complaint filed this week. “Our Constitution does not tolerate this racial gerrymander.”

As noted on Friday by the president, mail-in ballots are also a concern.

According to California Election Integrity Initiative founder and president Shiloh Marx, “California used mail-in ballots from canceled/removed voters to rig” the Proposition 50 vote.

In a tweet published Friday, Marx further alleged that the Trump administration has placed California “under legal and criminal review” as per a complaint filed by his organization.

He wasn’t wrong.

“The Unconstitutional Redistricting Vote in California is a GIANT SCAM in that the entire process, in particular the Voting itself, is RIGGED,” the president himself wrote in a Nov. 4 Truth Social post.

“All ‘Mail-In’ Ballots, where the Republicans in that State are ‘Shut Out,’ is under very serious legal and criminal review. STAY TUNED!” he added.

Bondi later confirmed that she was considering taking unilateral action to stop California’s mail-in balloting.

“The White House is working on an executive order to strengthen our elections in this country and to assure that there cannot be blatant fraud as we’ve sees in California with their universal mail-in voting system,” she said, as reported at the time by Politico.

“Like any executive order, of course any executive order the president signs is within his full executive authority and within the confines of the law,” she added.
