Among all the challenges facing the right — none heavier than the dead weight of the Republican-led U.S. Senate — the deep bench of potential 2028 presidential contenders remains a bright spot.
With potential options like Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, there may not be a bad choice, but leave it to the fake news media to stir the waters. In a so-called “exclusive,” The Washington Post cited two anonymous sources to claim President Donald J. Trump recently told donors during a private Oval Office meeting that he wants to see Vice President JD Vance win in 2028.
However, when asked by a reporter about whether he was making an ” official endorsement,” Trump downplayed the report.
“No,” the president said. “No. It’s, uh — I heard about it a little while ago. I think he’s great, but we’re way too early to even be thinking about that. Okay?”

Trump seems to like ribbing the TDS crowd by talking about a possible FOURTH run, but he has spoken positively about a potential Vance-Rubio partnership.
“They’re both very talented. They’re both great. Well, I like them both, and I like them together. You know, it would be great. I don’t know how you beat them if they’re together. That would be a great team. JD and Marco would be a great team,” he told New York Post columnist Miranda Devine in June.
