After four years and longer of ignoring former President Joe Biden’s clearly ailing health, the media are now obsessed with current President Donald Trump’s clearly just-fine health.
After Trump recently sat with The Wall Street Journal for an extensive interview on his health, CNN jumped to complain that he’d admitted to taking “a higher daily dose of aspirin than his doctors advise.”
“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” the president said. “I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”
“They’d rather have me take the smaller one. I take the larger one, but I’ve done it for years, and what it does do is it causes bruising,” he added.
Oh no!
CNN managed to find a doctor, Dr. Jonathan Reiner of George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences, to raise concerns about his aspirin use and bruising:

“It’s uncommon to see that kind of bruising with one aspirin a day,” Reiner said, pointing to commonly seen bruising on the president’s right hand. “My question is, ‘Does the president take any medications that have not been disclosed by the White House?”
Reiner also complained about the exact 325 mg dose of aspirin that Trump said he takes daily, arguing that a much better dose would be 81 mg per day.
“Aspirin has been studied in varied doses, and the reason why 81 milligrams is given to people is that’s the dose which appears to have the best combination of protection from clotting events and bleeding caused by the drug,” the doctor explained.
“In other words, 325 milligrams increases the bleeding risk but doesn’t increase the efficacy. So we never use that. The big issue here is transparency. All of these issues just highlight how opaque The White House has been about the president’s health,” he added.
CBS News also got in on the complaining:
CBS now: President Trump may not be fit for office because he takes aspirin.
CBS before: Joe Biden is fit for office even though he doesn’t know he’s Joe Biden.

The Journal, meanwhile, alleged that the president’s closest advisers have been noticing his skin becoming more delicate.
For example, after current Attorney General Pam Bondi gave him a high-five during the 2024 Republican National Convention as she was wearing a ring, the president’s hand started to bleed.
“The ring hit the back of my hand, and, yes, there was a slight little cut,” Trump told the Journal.
The cut reportedly alarmed the president’s aides, some of whom have observed other similar cuts on his hands. Trump, to his credit, admitted that he sometimes wears makeup on his hands because of these cuts.
“I have makeup that’s, you know, easy to put on, takes about 10 seconds,” he revealed.
The president’s hand bruises first became an issue in February. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded at the time by claiming the bruises were from all the hand-shaking he was doing.
“President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” she said. “President Trump is a man of the people.”
The White House just said the mysterious makeup-covered bruise on Trump’s right hand is because he is “shaking hands all day every day.”

The Journal also raised concerns about Trump’s allegedly sleepless nights.
“The president has difficulty sleeping well at night, and by his own account is often texting and calling aides at 2 a.m. or later,” the outlet reported. “Several allies described getting text messages from him after he catches up on their Fox News appearances in the wee hours of the morning.”
“Sleeping is a particular issue aboard Air Force One, where Trump keeps his advisers awake, according to aides. Top staff take turns sitting with him on long trips, rotating so that others can sleep while one person remains by his side, according to White House officials. The president is known to poke fun at aides for falling asleep,” the reporting continued.
Trump for his part has already dismissed all the concerns about his health as another media-concocted nothingburger.

“The White House Doctors have just reported that I am in ‘PERFECT HEALTH,’ and that I ‘ACED’ (Meaning, was correct on 100% of the questions asked!), for the third straight time, my Cognitive Examination, something which no other President, or previous Vice President, was willing to take,” he wrote on Truth Social early Friday morning.
