Trump goes after Fox News just hours after sitting down for an interview with the network

Not long after his latest interview, President Donald Trump found fault with Fox News for actions he believed were keeping the midterm elections close.

Rally coverage, poll tracking, interviews, and prediction markets are all counted among the ways corporate media can influence voter turnout ahead of an election. As such, with early voting well underway and Election Day just over the horizon, Trump slammed Fox News for allegedly giving too much airtime to the opponents of Republican nominees.

In a Truth Social post while making his way to Michigan for another stump speech, the president insisted, “FoxNews is spending far too much time putting on the OPPONENTS of Republican Party Candidates, people that love our Country, and have Great Policies and Ideas.”

“These American Patriots are being absolutely ‘blurred out’ by the Media, and Fox is doing little to help,” he added. “That’s the only reason this Race is close, if it is indeed close.”

Prior to the social media post, Trump joined Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, the interim host for Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” where they spoke for the better part of a half hour.

Introducing the president, Kudlow began, “I think you’re on a roll, okay?”

“I mean, you’ve been relentless! Your campaigning, it’s Herculean. You’re turning the tide,” he continued. “You’re getting voters out. You’re raising enthusiasm. The economy is booming. We’re the hottest in the world. Stocks are doing great. Drug prices are coming down. Oil is flowing through the Persian Gulf. I mean, I think in the last month you may have turned this whole thing around!”

The same day that Fox News’ “Special Report” featured both Michigan Senate hopefuls — Abdul El-Sayed (D) and former Rep. Mike Rogers (R) — Trace Gallagher spoke with Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell (D) about her support for her party’s Islamist nominee.

Meanwhile, in the same installment of “Fox News Sunday” where host Shannon Bream spoke with Iowa Democratic gubernatorial nominee Rob Sand, she also had on Republican rival Zach Lahn.

Worth noting, Fox News joined ABC, CBS, CNN and NBC in their decision to temporarily suspend White House pool coverage after the Trump administration banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico. That action resulted in the Justice Department opening an investigation into whether or not the networks were guilty of antitrust law violations pertaining to the Sherman Act’s prohibition of group boycotts among commercial competitors.

Sunday’s lament marked the latest dig at Fox News as, the Monday prior, Trump posted to Truth Social as he encouraged supporters to watch him on the Right Side Broadcasting Network instead: “Fox spends more time defending Dumocrats, and putting on their views versus their Republican opponent, than at any time in the History of FoxNews. It’s ridiculous! FoxNews is trying too hard to be Politically Correct!”
