A trip to Michigan found President Donald Trump steadfast in warnings about Abdul El-Sayed, going as far as to suggest a unique treatment should the “jihadist” be elected to the Senate.
With little more than a week remaining until Election Day, the chief executive maintained his marathon of cross-country rallying with a stop in Port Huron on Sunday. It was there that Trump raised the Democratic Senate nominee’s concerning ideological ties as he argued a win for El-Sayed would make him the first lawmaker to “have to go through a metal detector.”
On stage at the McMorran Place Arena, the president hammered home the myriad concerning reports revolving around the Islamist Senate hopeful, asserting, “Anyone with that record of support for jihadists would be screened and unable to get a seat on an airplane. They certainly should not give him a seat in the United States Senate.”
It was then he drew laughter from the crowd as he said, “He would be the only senator that will have to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate. I want him to have a metal detector.”
🔥 Pure SAVAGERY by President Trump on Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan — and he’s SPOT ON
“Anyone with that record of support for jihadists would be SCREENED and UNABLE to get a seat on an airplane. They CERTAINLY should not give him a seat in the US SENATE!”
“He would be the only senator that will have to go through a METAL DETECTOR before he’s allowed to go into the Senate!”

Making clear the suggestion was no laughing matter, Trump reminded that a win for El-Sayed would secure him access to national security secrets “and his vote would wield power over our military, our borders, our homeland security and much more than that.”
While the president set the tone earlier in the speech, expressing, “I’m here today in Michigan for a very important reason. I’m here to keep a jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member from becoming a United States senator, and that’s the fact. We’re not gonna let that happen,” he began, ripping into El-Sayed earlier on social media.
A Sunday Truth Social post began, “Heading to Michigan to fight a Jihadist Member of the Muslim Brotherhood — A man who should never be allowed inside the Halls of our Great and Beautiful Capital Building, in Washington, D.C. Everything he stands for is bad for our Country, which is now the ‘HOTTEST,’ by far, anywhere in the World!”
Trump further stated, “Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants our Country to go to Sharia Law. If it ever does, he should be the first that’s tried!”
Throughout his rally speech, the president referenced El-Sayed’s family members, including details about the nominee’s mother and her work for the Islamic American Relief Agency, which has been accused of funding Osama bin Laden and terrorist organizations.
“Any Jewish person that supports this guy should be ashamed of themselves,” added the president, who noted El-Sayed’s sister was among those reacting positively to the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack in Israel.
He also commented on El-Sayed’s in-laws, like his wife’s father, Tayeb Jukaku, a board director of Michigan’s chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
