Trump invites freed Israeli hostage Eli Sharabi to the White House

President Donald Trump has invited freed Israeli hostage Eli Sharabi to the White House.

Sharabi was held captive by Hamas for a shocking 16 months and was only released by the Palestinian terror organization in February 2025. The freed hostage was given an interview following his release in which he detailed his harrowing abuse including being chained up, beaten and starved. This treatment worsened over the course of his confinement, resulting in a very gaunt appearance during his release.

The man is expected to meet with Trump on Tuesday, an invitation that Sharon Sharabi, Eli’s brother, has called “inspiring.”

It warms the heart that Trump understands the urgency. I hope the meeting will help to bring the hostage[s] home,” the man said.

Sharabi and two other hostages who were freed at the same time will be traveling to the United States on Israeli-American Miriam Adelson’s plane.

“Monday morning, we’re boarding the plane with Mrs. Adelson’s kind help. We’ll arrive to see Trump and explain to him up close the urgency of continuing the first stage or beginning the second stage [of the cease-fire] — it doesn’t really matter,” Sharon Sharabi said.

His family also said the men who took Sharabi hostage killed his wife, daughters and dog, and took his brother Yossi. Unfortunately, Yossi was killed last year when Israel shelled the building he was being held in.

Terror groups still have 59 Israeli hostages.
