Trump jabs birthday boy Biden with letter from his doctor

President Biden celebrated his 81st birthday on Monday looking the worse for wear and Donald Trump, three years his junior, jumped at the chance to take a jab at the president — a recent Harvard-Harris poll found 67 percent of voters believe Biden is too old for the job.

The former president released a statement from his personal physician. Dr. Bruce Aronwald, who said he has been Trump’s physician since 2021 — the physician said he just conducted a “comprehensive” exam on Sept. 13. and declared that Trump is in “excellent health.”

“I am pleased to report that President Trump’s overall health is excellent. His physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional,” the letter said.

“Cardiovascular studies are all normal and cancer screening tests are all negative. President Trump has reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity, while maintaining a rigorous schedule,” Aronwald added. “It is my opinion that President Trump is currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for years to come.”

Should Biden get re-elected he would be 86 at the end of his term, assuming he served a full term. Trump would be 83 at the end of a potential second term.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, 45, commented on the age of not only Biden but Trump as well during an appearance Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union.

“The presidency is not a job for somebody that’s pushing 80 years old,” DeSantis said. “I just think that that’s something that has been shown with Joe Biden. Father Time is undefeated. Donald Trump is not exempt from any of that.

“I think, with somebody like me, you go in — I’m in the prime of my life — I go in day one. I will serve two terms, deliver big results, and get the country moving again. That’s what Republican voters want to see,” he added.

On Monday, DeSantis called Biden “selfish” for running again during a Newsmax town hall, saying the president has “clearly lost a step” while noting that airline pilots are required to retire at 65.

Trump’s chief rival said it would be an advantage to the GOP to run a younger candidate against Biden, just as it would be an advantage to Democrats if they ultimately pair a younger choice against 77-year-old former Republican president:
