Trump mulls labeling leftist attacks on Tesla locations as domestic terrorism

Facing escalating attacks on Tesla vehicles and offices, President Donald Trump is carefully considering his next move.

The Elon Musk-owned business fell out of favor with the left after the billionaire decided to back Trump in the 2024 election. Since then, boycotts of his products have become commonplace, but the increasing violence being aimed at Tesla is concerning to many.

This includes the president, who is currently debating whether to label the attacks, including violent protests at showrooms, as domestic terrorism.

When asked about the issue, Trump vowed to “stop” the people involved in the violence.

“I will do that, I’ll do it. I’m going to stop them. Those people are going to go through a big problem when we catch them. We’ve got a lot of cameras up, we already know who some of them are. We’re going to catch them. And they’re bad guys. They’re the same guys that screw around with our schools and universities, the same garbage. And, no, we’re going to catch them. And let me tell you, you do it to Tesla, and you do it to any company, we’re going to catch you, and you’re going to go through hell,” the president said.

It’s not just Tesla, either. Trump said he would feel the same way about any attack on an American company.

“If we catch anybody doing it, because they’re harming a great American company. I’ve stuck up for the NFL, I’ve stuck up for a lot of American companies and other companies, but American companies.”

Trump spokesperson Harrison Fields released a statement to The Hill, further condemning “ongoing and heinous acts of violence against Tesla” as “domestic terror.”

“The ongoing and heinous acts of violence against Tesla by radical Leftist activists are nothing short of domestic terror. President Trump has been clear: these attacks, or any other attack to intimidate or coerce our government or its people will not stand in President Trump’s America.”
