Another congressional foe of President Donald J. Trump could be on his way out with mouthy multi-millionaire Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) badly trailing his primary challenger in a new poll.
An obsessive Trump hater and seen as a serial spreader of conspiracy theories, the heir to the Levi Strauss family fortune is one of the richest members of Congress, but his money may not be able to save him from a rising tide of socialist sentiment in his New York City district that has lifted his opponent into a commanding lead.
The Emerson College/PIX 11 survey shows the smarmy Goldman getting clobbered by former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander by more than 30 points in New York’s 10th Congressional District, with a mere 23 percent saying that they would support him versus his opponent, who is getting 57 percent.

While the poll shows that 20 percent are undecided, it doesn’t bode well for Goldman, who, prior to his 2022 election, was the Democrats’ lead counsel on the first failed impeachment of Trump, which he parlayed into a House seat and a regular presence on cable news shows where he has spewed his nonsense.
Adding to Goldman’s troubles is that Lander has the backing of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, one of the party’s brightest young stars who mesmerized voters with his smooth talking and promises of free stuff.
In a social media post earlier this year, Mamdani backed Lander’s candidacy, touting him as a man who “has spent his career taking on big fights for New York’s working families.”
“I’ve spent my life organizing my neighbors to win big fights — stopping evictions, building new housing, desegregating our schools, protecting immigrants from ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement],” Lander said when he announced his candidacy, adding, “I recognize this moment, and I’m ready to meet it.”
Lander’s campaign website prominently features pictures of himself with Mamdani and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and touts an endorsement from socialist geezer Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
In November 2023, Goldman assailed Trump as “destructive to our democracy” and called for him to be “eliminated” during an appearance on MSNBC, which has since rebranded as MS NOW. Eight months later, a would-be assassin nearly “eliminated” the president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the first of three known failed attempts to take him out.

He’s not only unfit, he’s destructive to our democracy. He has to be eliminated” pic.twitter.com/18XDLBbWoN

While his primary foe is seeking to appeal to voters, Goldman is milking the Trump Derangement Syndrome for all it’s worth, and on Thursday, he teamed up with disgraced former CNN host Don Lemon, another trafficker in the fear and loathing that powers the most unhinged elements of the Democrat base.
The depths of Donald Trump’s corruption truly know no bounds.

The primary will take place on June 23 with a man who has been described by the New York Post as “one of the most loathsome Democratic politicians ever to darken its doors” on the verge of being sent packing.
