Trump reveals that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has requested a presidential pardon

On Monday, President Donald Trump revealed that Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested a presidential pardon.

Before the infamous trial even began, many in the media speculated that Combs would approach the president for a pardon, and it turns out they were right. While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump mentioned that “many people” have requested presidential pardons, including the freshly convicted singer.

Watch:

“A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” he said. “I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon.”

The president has previously mentioned the Combs case, implying that he would “look at the facts” to determine whether the music mogul was worthy of being pardoned.

“I haven’t seen him,” Trump said in May. “I haven’t spoken to him for years… I don’t know. I would certainly look at the facts. If I think someone was mistreated, it wouldn’t matter whether they like me or don’t.”

On Friday, Combs was sentenced to a little over four years in prison after being found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution. While his legal defense may not have been successful in the courtroom, former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani says “Diddy” has one last shot at gaining his freedom back.

“This isn’t the end of the legal road for Diddy, though,” Rahmani told Fox News Digital. “He can and will appeal, and he has arguments that the judge improperly calculated the guidelines and considered acquitted conduct.”

“Expect a strong lobbying effort by Diddy’s team in the coming days and weeks. This story is far from over.”
