Trump rips on illegal immigration at birthday bash for Kimberly Guilfoyle, but DeSantis fresh on mind

Former President Donald Trump invited political rivals into the celebration of his future daughter-in-law’s birthday Thursday when he veered from the festivities to take shots at President Joe Biden and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

Donald Trump Jr. and bride-to-be Kimberly Guilfoyle were said to have around 400 guests celebrating her turning 54-years-old at their home in Jupiter, Florida Thursday when the president briefly stole the spotlight. According to a source who spoke with Page Six, while Trump did give “a big, long speech praising Kimberly,” the 2024 presidential hopeful did stray back to familiar territory.

“We’re fighting very hard, we have a country that’s in very bad shape. We have millions and millions of people pouring in from mental institutions, from jails, every country — 128 countries,” he told the gathering said to be comprised of neighbors and potential political donors.

“Of that we have proof that least 98 are releasing all their prisoners into the U.S. and they’re releasing their people from insane asylums and mental institutions into the United States — and why wouldn’t they?” Trump continued, “It’s a disaster, including many many terrorists. We’re gonna change it around. We’re gonna change it around fast. It’s been an amazing campaign so far.”

The source also told Page Six that the president made “some tiny jabs at ‘Ron DeSanctimonious’ and Biden that got big laughs,” before he could later be heard promoting the release of a new book titled “Letters to Trump” that is expected to contain 150 private letters sent to him from celebrities and other public officials like, as he mentioned, Oprah Winfrey.

Trump was also heard asking if his eldest daughter Ivanka Trump was in attendance. However, it was reported to Page Six that she and her husband Jared Kushner, “were invited to Kimberly’s birthday party and were so sad to miss it. Their niece’s bat mitzvah was Thursday evening and it had been planned a long time ago.”

When the president announced he was running again, the power couple were a noticeable absence and in December Trump explained, “Contrary to Fake News reporting, I never asked Jared or Ivanka to be part of the 2024 Campaign for President and, in fact, specifically asked them not to do it — too mean and nasty with the Fake & Corrupt News and having to deal with some absolutely horrendous SleazeBags in the world of politics, and beyond. There has never been anything like this ‘ride’ before, and they should not be further subjected to it. I ran twice, getting millions more Votes the second time (RIGGED), & am doing it again!”

Despite his shots at Biden’s administration and his potential primary opponent, it wasn’t all politics as he also expressed his sincere feelings toward Guilfoyle and was quoted as saying, “I look forward to officially welcoming Kimberly into the family when Don marries her…we all love her.”
