President Donald Trump is remaining positive in the face of intense criticism over his tariffs, posting an encouraging message on social media.
Defending his decision to implement tariffs against a number of countries, Trump told Americans to “hang tough” in a Truth Social post that described the current situation as “an economic revolution.”

“China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close. They, and many other nations, have treated us unsustainably badly. We have been the dumb and helpless “whipping post,” but not any longer. We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before. Already, more than FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and rising fast! THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL WIN. HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump wrote.
This comes as China implemented a 34% tariff on American imports in retaliation for Trump making good on his threat to level the economic playing field across the globe by putting tariffs on foreign imports.
He believes that this move will create a manufacturing boom in the United States as innovators scramble to take advantage of the increased prices to make cheaper, domestic options.
