Trump vows legal action against Pulitzer board if they don’t take back Russiagate coverage awards

Former President Donald Trump is threatening to bring legal action against the Pulitzer committee if they refuse to revoke awards given to outlets that covered the Russia probe.

Specifically listed were The New York Times and The Washington Post, with Trump maintaining that the reports were based on false information. The 45th president wrote a letter to Pulitzer administrator Marjorie Miller on Friday threatening to bring down the legal hammer on the organization if they don’t see fit to rescind the awards.

“There is no dispute that the Pulitzer Board’s award to those media outlets was based on false and fabricated information that they published,” read the letter, according to Fox News. “The continuing publication and recognition of the prizes on the Board’s website is a distortion of fact and a personal defamation that will result in the filing of litigation if the Board cannot be persuaded to do the right thing on its own.”

“Together with the publications that have obsessively promulgated disgustingly false attacks against me, you have done all you can to destroy my reputation,” he noted, wondering, “how do I get my reputation back?”

Trump also advised the committee to pay close attention to the trial of former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, who has since been acquitted of lying to the FBI.
