Trump wants GOP to be ‘reimbursed for fraud’ after Biden quits

President Joe Biden’s election “stand down” had former President Donald Trump “Just askin'” a new question about “fraud” and campaign funds.

Away from the White House and with no public appearance, the incumbent settled rumors Sunday with a statement released on social media announcing he would no longer be seeking reelection. Amid questions of ballots, running mates and whether Vice President Kamala Harris was the presumptive nominee, Trump spoke to the seeming inevitability of the move with a point about being “reimbursed.”

Based on the premise that Biden’s withdrawal had only been a matter of time, the GOP leader offered a series of posts on Truth Social where he cited their June 27th debate as the catalyst of his rival’s “demise” and noted, “So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race.”

“Now we have to start all over again,” added Trump. “Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?”

The Republican nominee would go on to ask, “Who is running our Country right now? It’s not Crooked Joe, he has no idea where he is. If he can’t run for office, he can’t run our Country!!!” as he also challenged, “Does anybody really believe that Crooked Joe had Covid? No, he wanted to get out ever since June 27th, the night of The Debate, where he was completely obliterated. That was the big moment in Joe Biden’s demise. That was the point in time when Joe was revealed for what he is, an incompetent man who should never have been President. Joe Biden is not fit to serve — He is destroying our Country!”

Meanwhile, leftists endeavored to frame the incumbent as some kind of hero, with Harris referring to the withdrawal as a “selfless and patriotic act,” as her own statement leaped at the chance to take the reins of the campaign.

“I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,” she said after praising Biden. “Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party–and unite our nation–to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”

As it happened, while Trump joked that the Democratic leader would “wake up and forget that he dropped out,” it is worth noting that the initial statement from Biden that declared, “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” did not include an endorsement.

That came nearly 30 minutes later in a separate post that behaved as though the primary had never happened as the incumbent’s personal social media account read in part, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year,” the statement added.

Trump was far from alone in questioning what was going on as others suggested that Harris was “complicit” in keeping Biden’s condition from the American people, with some going as far as positing that she be impeached.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who predicted early on that Biden would not be the nominee, posted to X, “Kamala Harris was complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office. She also was the…border czar during the worst border crisis in American history. Democrats are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.”

Likewise, Texas Rep. Chip Roy (R), who previously filed a motion calling for Harris to assemble the cabinet and invoke the 25th Amendment, reacted amid new calls to see Biden removed from office entirely, “All this clamoring NOW about the 25th amendment? OK, but Dems will rally around Kamala Harris, or they won’t. She will not invoke the 25th [because] she becomes Brutus. If it’s in their interest, he will resign to give her incumbency. Only question now? #ImpeachKamala [because] #KamalaKnew.”
