Trump’s attention-craving niece rips AG Garland over ‘massive failure’ of not arresting her uncle yet

The neverending witch hunt being conducted against former President Donald J. Trump has been a major boon for his attention-craving niece who was plucked from obscurity by his foes and has been a fixture on Resistance media that has given her a forum to work out her family grievances.

This week, Mary Trump showed up on Dean Obeidallah’s “Salon Talks” podcast where she vented about her frustration that Attorney General Merrick hasn’t moved to arrest and jail her uncle yet and who much to the dismay of the haters, remains free to campaign for the Republican party’s 2024 nomination.

Obeidallah, a weaselly character with fascist inclinations, expressed dismay over the perception that Special Counsel Jack Smith has been dragging his feet on bringing charges against Trump and asked his guest for her take on the seeming lack of urgency to lock him up.

“We are two years and about three months since the January 6th attack. That was a Donald Trump production and a coup and DOJ, All we hear is that Jack Smith, the special counsel, seems to be robustly investigating but is expanding the investigation,” Obeidallah asked. “What’s your reaction that it’s been this long and what’s the message sent by the DOJ that they still have not charged Donald Trump in almost, two years and three and a half months?”

Trump replied, ‘It’s infuriating, but it should worry all of us that the people in places of power who actually can do something about fixing this country and saving American democracy don’t seem to understand the threat facing us.”

“And no matter what happens, hopefully, Jack Smith will get the evidence he needs to indict the right people. And hopefully, Merrick Garland will see the wisdom in letting that happen and allow things to play out. Right? Even if that happens, though, historians will look at Merrick Garland’s unwillingness to act in a timely fashion as a massive failure,” she added.

“If, however, we don’t succeed in holding those people accountable and we are not able to hang on to the American experiment, I think Merrick Garland will go down in history as the person who most failed America,” she said, expressing the frustration that Garland has yet to pull the trigger on what would be the final nail in the coffin of American democracy with the jailing of the top opposition party leader, a move customarily seen in banana republics.

Obeidallah jumped in, “Do you think Merrick Garland’s failure to charge Trump promptly, and there’s no doubt he didn’t charge him promptly, that it’s helped normalize Donald Trump?”

Trump responded, “It’s been quite the spectacle to see both Merrick Garland and the media do everything in their power to continue normalizing this man, even when it became clear that to do so would to be to endanger us further. So I don’t, there’s no explanation for what’s going on that I’m aware of that makes sense. So, yes, it has normal… Listen, he is not just running to be the Republican candidate for president.”

“He is the Republican candidate for president. That’s insane. We have active seditionists continuing to serve in our government. That’s insane,” she said. “If our system is incapable of protecting itself from those who seek to dismantle it, what’s the point of the system in the first place?”
