Trump’s full Mar-a-Lago press conference and how it embarrassed CNN

While former President Donald Trump has been busy holding press conferences, Vice President Kamala Harris has been busy doing nothing as the corporate propaganda press cover for her.

That, in fact, is exactly what happened Thursday, when Trump held an hour-long press conference from his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Watch:

Meanwhile, as Trump did exactly what a presidential candidate is actually supposed to do, Harris continued to avoid holding a press conference, all while continuing to avoid answering any questions.

To be fair to her, why should she take a question when she has the media dutifully covering for her like CNN did on Thursday? That morning, the leftist network ran a report complaining about Trump’s insistence that she stop messing around and agree to a major media interview.

No joke.

Look:

“In another front of its emerging offensive against Harris, the Trump campaign cranked up pressure on the vice president to do a major media interview, apparently hoping to goad her into a forum in which she’s historically been more vulnerable than when delivering scripted speeches,” the piece reads.

“In this light, Trump’s pledge to hold a news conference on Thursday looks like an attempt to create a contrast with the vice president,” it continues.

The report goes on to make excuses for Harris.

“Harris, especially early in her vice presidency, sometimes waffled in interviews and unscripted moments, and the Trump campaign clearly sees this as a potential way to slow her strong start,” it reads.

“But with the Democratic National Convention looming in less than two weeks, there seems little incentive yet for the Harris camp to take any risks, especially since Democrats can argue for now at least that the vice president has been spending her time frantically building a new campaign and hurriedly seeking a running mate,” it continues.

Critics were deeply, deeply, deeply unimpressed by CNN’s attempt to run interference for Vice President Harris.

“If you’re ‘historically vulnerable’ doing a media interview, maybe you shouldn’t be the person responsible for negotiating with hostile foreign leaders?” conservative commentator Mark Hemingway tweeted.

“The Media is The Regime’s PR arm,” Benjamin Weingarten, another commentator, added.

During his Thursday press conference, Trump tried again for his part to persuade Harris to stop dodging her responsibilities as a presidential candidate.

“She can’t do an interview,” he said. “She’s barely competent. She’s not smart enough to do a news conference.”

The media’s rebuttal has been to argue that she has been smart enough to spend a lot of time touring major swing states. But speaking with the press Thursday, one senior Trump adviser expressed skepticism.

“I get the biggest kick out of this — the tempo, blah, blah, blah,” the unnamed adviser said, mocking the media’s coverage of Harris. “I mean, guys, Kamala Harris has been the Democratic nominee for how long, and she hasn’t been asked one damn question by anybody in the press, and we’re about to head over to Mar-a-Lago to do another stand-up with the boss on a whole set of questions.”

“So the tempo, I mean, the tempo, as far as we’re concerned, has been exactly where it needs to be,” he added.
