A progress report from President Donald Trump regarding Middle East talks found naysayers wasting little time demonstrating their “crooked media” bona fides.
In the roughly three-and-a-half months since Operation Epic Fury had time to start and conclude, the conflict with Iran has readily been covered by corporate media as an albatross around the neck of the president’s polling. Now, the potential for a peaceable conclusion left talking heads falling all over themselves to detract from the moment, seemingly rooting for America’s failure.
While outlets like former MSNBC host Medhi Hasan’s Zeteo ran headlines dubbing the potential peace deal a “Humiliation for Trump and [Israel President Benjamin] Netanyahu,” journalist Seth Abramson, author of TDS books like “Proof of Collusion: How Trump Betrayed America,” sounded off, “My guess: once Trump gets to crow on his birthday about a deal he’ll falsely cast as a ‘peace deal’ in a war he started–even if real, it’s no peace deal–and once markets open strong tomorrow, he’ll start saying Iran is lying about deal terms. I highly doubt one is signed Friday.”
This was soon followed by a post that contended in part, “every nation involved and every media outlet is now saying something different,” as others weighed in.
But one thing is clear: no self-respecting American journalist should be running up to any football Trump puts down on his birthday and trying to kick it. We’re not in trust-but-verify territory. Deals must only be reported when signed. That’s the environment *Trump* has created.

What is good about the “deal?” The insane wealth Iran now has access to? The control over the strait they showed?

The reported details of this Iran deal are so insulting to the 13 U.S. servicemen and women who died. We’ve accomplished nothing. Iran is reopening the Strait of Hormuz, not giving up its uranium, and Trump is going to give them $25 billion. That’s way worse than the deal Obama…

So let me get this straight: the likely outcome of Trump’s war with Iran is to end up in a weaker position than the Obama nuclear deal he pulled out of, and to “reopen” the Strait of Hormuz, which was open before the conflict began. That’s the big win?

Yep anything can happen Maybe the Iranians will see what else they can get out of Don.

Where it concerned the pertinent parties in talks with Iran, the president himself posted to social media, “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the Untied States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
Meanwhile, with his country serving in the role as mediator, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif stated Sunday, “Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
After expressing gratitude for all those involved, he added, “With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”

Still, even after working for President Barack Obama’s administration, under which the Iran nuclear deal had been born and a cash payment of $1.7 billion had been proffered to the Islamic regime, “Pod Save America” co-host and onetime Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor argued, “Ending the war as soon as possible is the best outcome left, but the truth is Trump accomplished none of his goals and lost the war to Iran. Iran’s nuclear program is not eliminated, nor are its ballistic missiles. But Iran now knows it can crater the global economy at any time.”
Among other responses, tearing into the negative coverage, veteran Joshua Hartley opined, “Former Obama staffer who said Trump would never be President declares Trump ‘lost war to Iran’ before even seeing the deal, while failing to acknowledge Iran lost their entire Navy & Air Force. A crooked media member indeed.”
